Odessa!

Dear Homeward Pet,

Just wanted to let you know that "Odessa", the 9 month old kitten we adopted last Tuesday night, is doing AWESOME!  She is sleeping on the bed with my husband and me and our other cat "M”.  She likes our older dog "Sport", and holds her own with our puppy "Chaia"!  We love her!

Just wanted you to know.

Nancy and Family!

Grendel and Percy!

We have adopted a total of three kitties from you follks over the last three years.  I am happy to say that Grendel (Kirby) and Percy (Bert) are doing very well and have already made good friends with Simone (Puss-n-Boots adopted 2.5 years ago from you) and Snowball, our American Eskimo puppy.  Everyone has their own litterbox, food and water.  We have a large home so there is a lot of space for the kitties and they don't even get get in trouble for scratching on the leather furniture.  It kind of just goes with owning cats.

Thank you all again for the wonderful work that you do.

Best Regards,

Simone, Grendel, Percy, Snowball and their human servants!  :-)

Chloe!

Thank you so much for making our adoption process both supportive to our pet and to us as well. Your staff members were very helpful to us.

Chloe is doing well, except for a little sneezing, which we expect she'll get over. She's been to the vet (Cedar River Pet Hospital here in Renton) to talk about that, and she is learning how to interact with our older cat, Diego. No fights, just a little territorial behavior.  She's very active and social -- and she's loved.

I am really impressed with the follow up by Homeward and with the very professional way the entire process has been handled.  Congratulations on offering such a fine service to both animals and people.  The $100 fee, while a bit of money, is really pretty inexpensive for what you do.  You are a model.

Best regards

Dan and Chloe

Pepper (previously Boo)

Hello!

We just wanted to let you know how Pepper (previously Boo) is doing since the time she chose to be part of our family about a month ago at Homeward Woodinville.

Pepper has been a darling since the day she came home. She loves curling up in our laps, falling asleep wrapped up in a soft blanket, practising her hunting skills on her favorite toy mouse, and posing for pictures. :)

We've fallen so in love with her that it sometimes makes us wonder how we ever lived without her!

Thank you so much for helping us find the perfect kitty!

Attached are a few pictures.

Best,

Shubha & Vipul

Caramel (Mabel)!

Caramel (previously Mabel) is doing great! She has made a great addition to our family, so sweet and lovable! She is definitely a lap dog. She sleeps with our kids at night and gets lots of attention and walks. She likes to play with toys we have for her and explore our yard (on a leash, of course).

We would like to adopt another dog from you at some point, but for now we are very happy with Caramel and our cat.

Thanks so much,

Susan and Howard

Kiki, Tiger, Tommy, Mue-mue, Mandy!

I wanted to send you a short note to let you know that we didn’t have any problem giving the kittens new names and to let you know that they have adapted well to the house. Kiki (the boy) has given notice to everyone that ‘he’ is in charge. Mandy has become the observer. She is a real lap cat and doesn’t seem to depend on her bother so much anymore. Whenever she wants something she’ll just coo.  They both want to be together on top of mom of either Dad or Mom.

We are absolutely delighted with our new additions. It only took about a half an hour before they took over the entire upper floor including our bed and bedroom. When they sleep with us they purr all the time.

Tiger has acclimated to the new babies (he’s a boy but he is also a mother to the little ones) almost immediately. Meu-meu has fun with both and Tommy is not sure what to do because he still hasn’t figured out what they are.

Thank you again for our two new “precious” four footers.

Love,

Marta and David

Ranger (Chopper)!

Dear Friends at Homeward Pet Adoption Center,

My people, Lori and Rob, told me that you wrote asking how I was doing in my new home, so I thought I'd let you know that I love it here!  They feed me great food from Mud Bay, bought me a cool kennel that sits right in the middle of the kitchen where I can be a part of what's going on, even when I need to be contained, set up a great container right by their bed for me to sleep in at night (I already outgrew the one they bought from you guys) and are constantly petting and scratching me in all the right places.  I have a big back yard where I can chase the squirrels and bark at the crows.  And there are dogs living all around me that I am very slowly, but surely, getting to know.  I had the best play session with the young spaniel next door this afternoon!

I passed my first vet appointment with flying colors.  My vet comes to our house, so it's pretty laid back.  (And she brings treats too!)  Her name is Dr. Stacy Clardy, and her practice name is Pawsitively Pets in Maple Valley.  I get to see her again next week, 'cuz I have to get my second leptovax shot.  She said I should have that one, along with all the others, since my people want to take me hiking and camping with them when I get a little older.  They say I have to learn good trail manners first, though, since I'm going to be a big dog when I grow up.  (I have already gained 4.5 lb. since I came home from Homeward Pet!)  So, I get to go to these great puppy kindergarten classes at Argus Ranch, every Thursday.  My friend, Terri Kaluza, is teaching my people how to teach me.  My favorite part, besides the treats and puppy recess, of course, was when Terri told my people that if I screwed up and went potty in the house, they were supposed to take a newspaper, roll it up and hit themselves on the head with it, for not keeping a close enough eye on me.  Tee hee!  I'm doing pretty good, though - no accidents for a couple of weeks now.  I think I've got them pretty well trained.

All in all, life is pretty darn good.  I'm definitely an outdoor dog, so I see lots of trips to the woods and beaches in my future.  And I love to be stimulated - training, playing, walking - I love it all.  And they say I'm a gentle guy - not much of an aggressive or predatory streak that anyone can see.  I'm not sure all my new squeaky toys would agree with that, but they don't count!  Oh yeah, my people wanted me to be sure to tell you that they really appreciated all the help you gave them when they adopted me - telling them about potty training, cradling, crating, feeding, puppy classes, etc.  Brie's guidance and the written materials you sent home with them were invaluable - big word for a small pup like me.  Things have changed a lot since they had their last puppy fifteen years ago - thank heavens!  But they were able to hit the ground running with me, doing things the right way (for the most part), and giving me a great start to life, thanks to you guys.  We all really appreciate you!

You are a long ways from my home in Kent, but one of these sunny days we're going to come up and see you guys again.  We need to bring that little crate back so you can pass it on to another family and my people want to show you how big and lovable I am!  Till then, thanks for caring and for making it possible for me to get a fresh start in life.  I'm loving it!!

Ranger (aka Chopper from Yakima)

Tophur!

Hi there.  Thank you so much for allowing us to adopt our wonderful new friend.  We’ve named him Tophur (pic attached) and he’s fitting in very very well.  The existing kitty in the house is getting along just great now after a couple of wary days.  Tophur seems healthy and happy and obviously came from a nice home originally.  He likes to play and cuddle.  We’re taking him to the vet today.

Your facility was impressive and your staff was so friendly and professional.  We’d definitely recommend Homeward to friends in the future!

thanks

Brandon

Big Boy Bandido-Bandido!

Oh my gosh! We adore our kitten and he is doing great-his name is Big Boy Bandido-Bandido because he stole our hearts and my dog's bed! But we also call him Rambo because he is fearless and tough as nails! Here he is in the arms of one of my daughters and rough housing with our golden retriever, Jack. We love our little black purr-ball!  Thank you so much for offering this adopter's support! Can I have another one???

Reesy and Snickers!

Reesy and Snickers love each other so much they sleep with us in bed and
they cuddle all night! They are so precious and we are so in love with
our girls! Thank you for everything our girls make us smile all the time
and they are so fun and playful!

Sincerely,
Kelly and Jon

Loo-Loo (Dancer)!

Everything is going smoothly! Thank you so much for your consideration in checking in with us. We renamed Dancer and she now answers to "Loo-Loo" and is joy to have around. She is very happy and got a clear bill of health from the vets. Again, thank you so much for all you have done!

Kenneth

Cookie!

Cookie is doing great! I call her my little Christmas “Cookie”. She’s been here just a month and couldn’t fit in better (is very wary of the cats, but loves the nephews and nieces that come to visit!) As you can see from the pictures she’s been a good Christmas dog and loves her new toys!

Sadie!

We are very happy with our new kitty! We have decided to keep the name Sadie, but usually just call her nicknames like Kitty Kat or Pumpkin. She did not get along with our dog Moose at first, but she is warming up to him pretty fast. Though if Moose comes a little too close, Sadie tries to take a swipe at him.

My dad built her a cat tree, because the ones they sell at the store are extremely expensive, and she loves it. She tries to eat Moose’s food, and now shares Moose’s water bowl as well. She is very calm and loves to run around right before we go to bed.

She has warmed up to her new home very well, she comes up to our bed and sleeps with us and wanders wherever she pleases. She also has taken over our couch and loves to look out the window in the dining room. She has gained a little bit of weight, and the vet said she is nice and healthy.

Thank you very much,

The Laban Family

Bridgette (Cuddy)!

Hi-

The kitten is perfect and she and my other cat (male, about 1 year old) became best friends almost immediately. They are adorable together...they play together, sleep together and groom each other. I have taken lots of pictures and will forward a few to you.

This kitten (old name Cuddy-new name Bridgette) is so sweet and loving, she enjoys being held and is very cuddly...but she's also 100% playful kitten.

My entire family LOVES her...she's so sweet and sassy and smart. I am extremely grateful we were able to find her and add her to our family!  Thank you!

Harley!

Hi Homeward Pet team:  Harley is doing absolutely fabulous with us.  His first day was like our home was the only place he was ever supposed to be.  He's a really good boy and has blended right in to our family.

Thanks for everything you do.  It was great experience working with your organization and I'm thankful you're there helping to provide a second chance for dogs and cats.

 -Kristi

Dixie!

Our kitten was a huge hit at Christmas and is the sweetest cat.  She and the dog are finally "speaking" to one another and I sense harmony soon.  We will send some photos along shortly ... especially the tears of joy Christmas morning.

Brian

Sweetie & Ling!

The mom cat (Sweetie) is doing very well and follows us around everywhere we go unless she is napping.  She is very friendly and is in good health as is the kitten (Ling), we have named her Princess Ling.  We have two chairs near this desktop and Sweetie usually is in one of the chairs -- having claimed the one with the best seat cushion.

Ling is still very, very skittish and spends time alone when her mom is with us -- she rarely joins her mom in being with us.  On ocassion now (when putting food out for her), she will allow us to stroke her back (but her mom has to be there).  So Princess Ling continues to be a "work in progress" trying to get her comfortable with us.

They play together and race around the house -- sometimes Sweetie seems to be too rough on Princess Ling.   But I guess that is a mom to daughter relationship.

So far, so good,
Marvin

Charlie!

Charlie is doing great. When we first brought him home, he was nervous, skinny, and unsure. He was afraid to get into our car to go anywhere and he wouldn’t play when we took him to our local field.

Now he has a healthy appetite, loves to play chuck-it,  and go to Marymoor. He’s learning how to play with our 12 lb. alpha dog jack russell/aussie shepherd mix. I still wonder why anyone would have given him up. He’s friendly, likes to jump onto or laps, is house trained and crate trained.

I’ve attached a photo from a recent snowshoeing trip.

Sparky (Dollar Bill)!

We are so happy with our new companion dog, Sparky (formerly known as
Dollar Bill). Here is a picture of him in his coat that he got when it
was so cold back in early December.

He is the dearest little guy! He is so smart, and learned so quickly
what we liked and disliked. He brings cheer wherever he goes, he is so
friendly. He loves his walks, and it's fun to take him because he's so
good on the leash. He also likes to play games like hide and seek and
fetch, but he's quite patient when it's not playtime. We enjoy working
with him to teach him new tricks, and he seems to enjoy learning them.
And he really is a marvelous companion - he likes to follow us wherever
we go and loves to cuddle up with us when we're relaxing. We sure love
and appreciate him, and it seems like he must like us too.

Also, thanks so much for the free vet exam coupon. We did take him to
the vet and he was completely fine. She was also impressed with what a
really good dog he is.

We just feel so fortunate!

Thanks to you for sheltering him and giving him such good care until we
found each other.

Maria and Larry

Zeke (Fluffy)!

Zeke is doing great!  He spends all of his time with me and is learning super fast.  I'm amazed at how smart and even tempered he is.
I attached a recent picture of him.

Best regards,

Laura

Bob!

Bob is doing just great.  Hard to believe it has only been a month!

Here's a picture of Bob making a goofy face.

Kaia!

Hey ya all, The little pitty we got from you is doing great, and getting along real well with our 1 year old pit mix. Our older dog is a litttle more grumpy but she is the alpha, so she is letting Kaia (you knew her as Kaylee) know whats up. No fights or anything though. All is good. She is a sweet heart, and adjusting well. she starts puppy class this weekend. She has become the Senior Centers mascot, because Tom takes her to work with him alot. Everybody loves her there. Thanks alot Tom and Vicki

Millie!

We have been so delighted with "millie' she has been such a lovely puppy, everything you could have wished for... the naughty and nice! ... she was one of 11 pups from Yakima, lab/collie mix.... she has settled in very well, she loves our 3 year old lab Murphy who is beginning to adjust, as long as she doesn't take his tennis ball... she has gotten into a good routine, and enjoys an hour walk in the mornings, and has started going to the door for piddle time. We had our second visit to the vets this week, and she has gone from 7 lb to 9.6 lb, so is growing well!

thanks for spending so much time with us to help decide on her, you do such a great job there

happy holidays to you all

the Macrae family

Bit-Bit and Bitty Boy!

They are the most wonderful little boys and I think I can safely say that it’s debatable who adopted whom…hahaha! They love to play and sleep and eat and not always in that order. We are trying to determine which toys they like best but so far it would be a tie between my toes and my husband’s ankles. They love to sleep with us but once it’s time to settle down they have their own chair by the sliding doors where they sleep and also watch the night happenings from our upstairs view into the backyard; lots going on down there at night, I’m sure. I try to spend as little time away from them as possible and when I am home they want to be right there with me and they follow me around just like little lambs. They are doing great with their cat box and have trained us to leave our coats and sweaters in good locations for them to snooze in/on. We have re-named them Bit-Bit and Bitty Boy for the two white spots on either side of his nose and for the one spot on the side of his nose respectively. Our vets and everyone at their office have fallen in love with them!

The proud parents agree that they are adorable……. J ! Today they have a very exhausting day as I made cmas cookies….they were very enthusiastic about helping and BitBit wanted to sample some, too……I told him “no, it might raise your cholesterol!”….hahaha…..

Linda

Tessa!

Tessa settled in from day one and is a great member of the household. She loves my Dad and spends many hours snoozing away with him in his room and has bonded with my daughters English Bullies when they come to visit. She is very smart and when taken out she never takes off and loves to take walks to the neighbor's house who adopted the white shepard, Sadie and seem to remember each other which is great.

Ardyth

Boomerang!

Hi there. We love our new adopted dog! (her name is now Boomerang from Caroline). I am able to take her to work most days, and she is a big hit with the customers. We have had some issues with getting along with the rest of our pack, but day by day we keep working with her and the pack to get things smoothed out. She was pretty heavy when we first got her, and she is starting to lose that big belly. She is a good walker and once she is a bit more thin then I want to take her jogging. I can't imagine how someone could let this girl get loose, as I think her story was she was found as a stray down in Auburn. We'll stop by soon and say hi. We really appreciate all the help we got from your volunteers Amy and Brie. You all are awesome, and we appreciate all that you do there. Best regards, Tammy

Gucci and Phelps

I thought I would let everyone at Homeward Pet know how Gucci (now known as Treat, the cat we lost in Dec. was Trick) and Phelps (now known as Mojo Kitty) are doing. They have quickly adapted and made this their home. They even get along with my other cats. This picture shows them in their favorite activity which is bird watching. They got a clean bill of health from Dr. Marshall on Monday. We couldn't be happier with our new boys!

Happy New Year!

Sincerely,

Connie

Butch

Butch is doing great. He is getting used to his new home. Here is a quick picture of him watching me work in my dinning room.  I will send some good pictures soon. We couldn't be happier with Butch, he is perfect cat for us.

Thank you again from Butch's people (Paul, Tami and Tyra Uhrig)

Happy Tails - Blaze

Hello and happy New Year!

We adopted Blaze about a month ago and changed his name to Tucker. He also goes by T-man and Tuck the Truck. We are SO in love with him and he has adjusted so well to his new home that we had to let y'all know.

We have a large, soft armchair in our living room that Tucker quickly claimed as his spot to snooze on. He loves to sit on our porch and watch squirrels, go on long walks and runs, and he plays beautifully with every dog he's met so far. His other favorite things to do are lay between us on the couch and ride in the car. We live near a beach but Tucker has yet to figure out that the salt water never tastes good. He'll get it eventually :). Tuck is also very organized, he keeps all his toys and chews on his bed. He'll bring it back to his bed if it is out of place.

Tucker knows and can perform sit, down, jump, off, and stay commands almost flawlessy. He has made huge progress with regards to coming when we call him. We also have him signed up for doggie school. In addition, we are happy to say that Tucker has gained about 10 pounds since we adopted him and is now at a healthy weight.

Tucker is such a sweet, wonderful dog. We are thrilled he was able to come home with us and just can't get over how much we love him!

Thank you expecially to Amy - you were a huge source of information and we can't thank you enough for helping us adopt our baby.

With love,

Jesse, Lindsay, and Tucker

Skipper

Hi, just wanted to drop you a note and let you know Skipper is doing great.  She has really grown, too. She is totally acclimated to the family and vice versa.  We all love her, and she seems very happy.  Here is a picture of her sitting in her favorite spot…my lap is throne for the queen of the house.

Happy Kitty

An update on Bobby formerly known as Angel. She is beyond perfect! We wanted a lap kitty for my mom who is in a wheelchair (her beloved dog had been hit and killed by a car at Thanksgiving) to keep her company and help her get over her loss. Bobby sits in her lap all the time (and uses the arm of the wheelchair as her pillow, it is very cute!), sleeps with her every night and an added bonus, she is super playful and funny and has brought joy and life back into the house! She absolutely loves and charms everyone. Thank you for letting us bring her into our lives.

Julie
