Update on Sylvia!

Dear Homeward Pet --

We adopted an adorable 3-month old kitten from you on December 6th.  Your name for her was Sylvia, and we have rechristened her Bella.  We also have a 2-year-old cat from your shelter, Chula (adopted in early February 2007 and originally named Shalom).  Chula means "pretty" in Spanish and "Bella" the same in Italian, see?

Someone from your office called us the week before last to ask if we would report on Bella and send a picture.  So pictures of both cats are attached.  We adore Bella and Chula!  My husband, who is partially disabled and can't work much, has been able to spend lots of bonding time with Bella, whom we keep strictly indoors, of course, along with Chula.  Bella got the rest of her first year shots at the vet and finished her daily soft kitten food regimen recently upon reaching the ripe old age of 5 months, and she is healthy, happy, and full of kitten energy.  We had to keep the two cats apart for a long time at first, but the older cat is finally agreeing to accept the kitten.  Bella loves to run and play, to fully inspect any home appliance that uses water, and to sleep by the fireplace (you might recall that her rescuer found her almost frozen on a sidewalk on chilly November evening last year, poor thing, and now she seems to cherish anyplace warm and cozy).  As wild and playful as she can be, Bella also loves to snuggle and purr on my lap and my husband's, for a little while, anyway, until the next kitten game is on.

We love our kitties and are so grateful for what you do.  We send you a little cash a couple of times per year when we can.  I also posted your website address on my Facebook profile after we adopted Bella and recommended your shelter to all my friends.  Thank you for everything!
