Abandoned puppy update!

Working in animal rescue we learn to expect the unexpected, both good and bad.  After twelve puppies were abandoned in a box on Thanksgiving Eve, we found foster families who were willing to lose sleep in order to feed and care for them every few hours.  And then after hearing of the pups through our foster network, Al walked through our doors and offered his lactating boxer as a surrogate mother.  Babe had given birth to only one puppy and had lots of milk to give.  After some gentle coaxing, the puppies began to nurse in the way nature intended and are now getting the attention and socialization from a mom and their littermates that they needed.  If you are interested in providing one of these miracle pups with a permanent home, please contact Cindy at dogs@homewardpet.org
