Thelma

When Thelma first came to Homeward Pet Adoption Center, it was in the height of kitten season and for a senior cat, that made Thelma very unhappy. She was adopted out but by no fault of her own was returned after some months-arriving back at Homeward right back into kitten season. Beautiful, healthy Maine Coon mix with many years to go (she was only 10/11 years old) but everyone preferred to pick kittens.
When my grandmother moved to Washington, we felt we may have a home for Thelma. The matter was discussed and then Thelma went to her new forever home. Once in a home of her own, away from the kittens, she changed completely from an unhappy cat in the shelter to a cheerful happy cat, friendly and chatty. She enjoys hanging out watching TV with her human, keeps company at the computer, and absolutely soaks up attention (although she does enjoy some independence, but mainly craves attention)! She s a wonderful companion, chats with you and is not too high energy like a kitten, but does still have some spunk in her, and is really healthy at her age-about 17/18 years old. She is not destructive, does not chew on things or scratch up furniture, nor does she get into mischief like some younger cats and kittens will do.
She was a senior cat in a shelter that deserved to live out her golden years in the comfort of a home and is currently living the dream. Thelma and everyone else hopes that more people will come and adopt a "Golden Oldie" pet and give a senior pet another chance for a great home like Thelma got!
