Carmen

Carmen is doing great! She has fit right into our family.

She has a favorite fur brother and is constantly playing all the way til 1-2 am! You'd think being a senior, at 9 yrs of age with arthritic legs, she'd be more mellow but she keeps up with the 4 yr old boxer.

Thank you!

Derbi (now Morris)

I thought you would enjoy seeing this picture of our kitten Derbi (now Morris) in her new home. She and South became friends very quickly!

Cecil

Cecil has made himself quite at home with us! He follows us everywhere we go! We are very happy that Cecil came home with us, he is extremely sociable and lovey and talkative.

Big thanks to Allison and Juliet and to everyone at Homeward Pet for helping wonderful pets like Cecil find their perfect home!

Osgood

I thought that I would drop you a line about Osgood, the Shar Pei/Beagle mix that I adopted this time last year.

He is doing so, so well. I feel like he has been through a lot. When I got him he was underweight, had a skin infection, and a few other things. He has now been given a clean bill of health. I always say he's been the biggest lesson and an even greater blessing to me. I love him very much.

Thank you for letting me adopt him and welcome him into my home. He truly is the cutest dog I know.

Chica

We are so in love with Chica!

Things are going great. Daisy, our cat, is just now starting to be around her more; not quite sleeping with her, but they are in the same room sleeping. I have been taking her daily on a trail by our house for exercise. She is getting more used to seeing other dogs. She had her vet appointment, which she got a good check up.

I still need to look into those classes you are offering. I know we will all learn somethings!

Virgil (now Baxter)

Just a note to let you know that Virgil (renamed Baxter) is doing great! He’s a loving sweetie and follows me around everywhere.

It took a few weeks but now Baxter and his older sibling, Buster, are getting along great. Does my heart good to see them playing together. They race all over the house, and while they don’t yet curl up together the way Bandit did with his late brother, they do sleep on the bed with me.

Scarlet (now Brooklyn)

Homeward Pet was our 7th and final stop in checking shelters. If we didn't meet a dog we fell in love with that day then we were going to keep watching sites and go back another time.

I've come from a background of giant breed dogs and my fiancé had always had medium sized dogs. His last one was a pit bull and I really wasn't on the same page with his desire for another one. Then we met Scarlet.

As soon as I saw her I was blown away at how beautiful she was, and then we got to interact with her and I KNEW I had to get her home with us. Falling in love with her wasn't complicated. Arranging the schedules of 2 adults and 6 kids in school was quite another story. 3 days later when we were finally able to get the rest of the kids in to meet her, and that was it.

Scarlet has been renamed Brooklyn and she's an extremely lovable, playful, spirited, goofy girl. She's been adored by others in our neighborhood who will just stop by to say hi to her.

Now that we have her we can't imagine life without her.
