Lilly
We enjoy having her as part of our family.
Baby Girl (now Gilly)
It's been almost a month since we brought our little Gilly girl home with us and what a blessing it has been. We just love her so much and are so grateful she is part of our family.
Thank you, Homeward Pet!
Pepper
We got this cutie from you in November, and have loved her to kibbles and bits! Thanks for bringing us together!
Dottie (now Gracie)
Me and Gracie. Yes, she's the love of my my life. She is the sweetest dog.
I have ALWAYS been blessed with all my doggie choices. Truth is, I think she may also have picked me.

Diesel (now Utey)
In June of 2013 I saw Diesel (a boxer/lab mix and owner surrender) at the Everett animal shelter. The next day I went back to get him and you guys beat me to him!
A trip to the county clerks office and a public information request later I learned that Homeward had picked him up. I called every day for at least a week receiving the same answer, 'When he's on the website he's available.' He finally popped up on the website and I was there that afternoon. He was 45 pounds, lanky with a big head, big paws, and little legs. I adopted him that day.
He didn't respond at all to his name so I renamed him Utey (it sounds like the letters U and T) and 2 weeks later we ended up moving to Denver for my job. We went on a 3,000 mile road trip and he loved every minute of it. I just wanted to share with you that he found a wonderful home and that he's the greatest and sweetest 75 pound lap dog I've ever seen.
He's never met a stranger, and even when the pizza guy comes to the door he's so excited that his whole body wiggles and he hits himself in the face with his own tail. I couldn't have asked for a better addition to my family.

Rosie & Daisy
Rosie and Daisy are about the cutest pair of cats ever. They love to hold paws while they're sleeping, and I've lost count of the number of pictures I've taken of them.
*6/18/14 - Due to unforeseen circumstances, Rosie and Daisy are back at the shelter and are available for adoption.*

Tutu (now Pixie Lou Frappuccino)
On the 24th of April I adopted Tutu from you. What an absolute sweetheart she is! After much consideration, we've renamed her Pixie Lou Frappuccino. (My 9yr old daughter may have had a heavy influence on that decision). Pixie is quite spoiled. There's much disagreement in the house about whose turn it is to snuggle with her! She's adjusting so well. She could care less about the cat or bunny in our home. She loves riding in the car. She's eating well & aside from chewing on the blinds, seems to do alright when she's home alone. Luckily, she's hardly been left alone much. We just love her so much. We keep saying she's like a little stuffed animal with a heartbeat. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to adopt her. |
Maggie (now Boeke)
Maggie is doing great! She blended right in with my greyhound and my cat, and we've had no issues. I have renamed her Boeke, after a place in my hometown. We run 4 time a week together, and I've just signed her up for agility classes, so we're in for some fun times!
Thanks so much for helping me find my new family member!
Cheyenne (now Porsche)
We are so happy with our new addition. She has really blossomed from the scared little cat she was when we first brought her home. Instead of living under the bed she is now in the window, on the bed, and vocal about everything that she thinks we should know. She is healthy and happy and enjoys hanging out with our other cat Nesby.

Petey (now Peety)
I first met gentle, silly Peety, new to Homeward Pet, hiding in his litter box with his rug pulled over his head. With a little coaxing, he quickly blossomed into his warm, personable spirit and I received multiple raspy “kisses”, as if thanking me over and over. I quickly realized I had to adopt this wonderful boy.
Highly knowledgeable Homeward Pet Cat Adoption Counselor, Laurel, led us through the adoption process while providing us a wealth of information for introducing him to our household and his optimal diet.

Within a few days, my big Garfield-like rescue kitty got over his shock about having a new “younger brother” and became best friends; every morning is a fun wrestling match and full runs through the house. I hadn’t anticipated the benefit of my older kitty having a workout partner to help trim his recent expanding waist!
In addition, Peety works as my Office Manager in my home office holding down the paperwork on my desk and periodically waking up to give me kisses. What a complete joy he is!
Thank you Homeward Pet staff, the Ellensburg cat rescue group and all the loving, talented Homeward Pet volunteers that enabled this wonderful kitty to join our family! You all make the world a much better place though all your wonderful efforts!
Molly
Our little Molly was a feral-born kitten and spent a long time at the shelter in a cage alone before we adopted her. Yet, after getting over her initial skittish nature, she is the most loving, sweet, cuddly, human-adoring kitty ever.

Lucy
It will be five years this year since we adopted Lucy (in September 2009), and she has reached her senior years of 10. She's one of our family members, a loyal companion, and the best "gift" I ever gave myself.
Once Lucy's familiarity and assurance kicked in to her new environment, her shyness wore off. She began to expose her real character and wonderful personality. She learned that given a third chance was possible and she flourished as much as she knew how to. Living indoors, she learned the real comforts of home, plus she's given many outdoor opportunities to exercise and romp in her large yard. She has made friends with our dog friendly neighbors. Lucy has also befriended her most promising suitor George, a German Shorthair Pointer who lives across the street.
There are many nearby wooded trails around our neighborhood for us to trek on/off leash each morning for about 2 to 3 miles or so. She has exposed me to many pleasant experiences of meeting fellow dog walkers and their pooches and getting fresh air - rain or shine, all while providing me the daily walking exercise that's physically beneficial. At times when we walk next to a quiet road, Lucy will put on the brakes without notice, then sit while giving people passing by a comical experience while watching her strong will illustrated. A couple perks Lucy looks forward to is her brushing every morning and her evening massage before she retires.
Thank you Homeward Pet for giving Lucy the opportunity she needed to find a forever home.

Benelli - a former Overlooked Dog
We wanted to keep her name as it was very unique and it was what she was used to. She loves to go on her daily walks or runs, and we recently found out that she loves the water. She took to her new home and her new yard very quickly. She knows where her front door is and doesn't even need to be told where to go when we get back from a walk.
She loves her car rides, especially when she knows she's going over to see her "cousin" a two year old Golden Retriever. They love each other and love to play. Neither are toy or food aggressive, which makes for fun play dates when they get together.
Johnny Blue Eyes (now Wasabi)
I adopted Wasabi (formerly known as Johnny Blue Eyes) almost a year ago from Homeward Pet. We're just as happy and content as ever.
I'm so glad I happened upon him at the right time! I couldn't imagine my life without him now.

Geena (now Bella)
Geena is doing well and she seems to have settled just fine into our family. My daughter changed her name to Bella in honor of her roots in Forks.
Attached is a picture I got of her when I could get her to sit still enough.
Cheeto
About 2 years ago I adopted Cheeto from Homeward Pet. Attached is a picture of him in one of his favorite places - the shower floor. It has a heated floor and he really likes it in the shower for some reason, so he will pull down a towel and sleep on that. He is SUCH a sweet and loving boy, I am so glad he is part of our family.
Thanks for all you do for animals.
