The moment I first saw Della's picture on the Homeward Pet home site, I was taken in immediately. She was adopted in January of 2010, and renamed to Anny. She is as advertised - a natural purring machine. Anny is thriving well as an indoor cat who longs for her daily outdoor walks on the leash with her leading and pulling her human at full speed to areas of movement, smell, and arousement. To maintain her level of interest with fresh air, she's been provided access to the upper balcony with multi-level perches attached to the house siding. Indoors she has access to a 7ft cat tree overseeing the outdoor bird feeder and squirrels for her added entertainment. She tolerates her grooming time and nail trimming if done quickly.
Reggae was adopted in February of 2014, we have renamed him Sammi. To help make a successful introduction between Sammi and our resident cat Anny, we followed the process steps from the book 'Think Like a Cat' provided by Homeward Pet. That process paid off. Through Sammi's persistence to be her friend, he dedicates much of his time shadowing Anny's every move with just enough separation that seems to be working. We are starting to see Anny become more engaging to Sammi's approach. No doubt, Sammi's charm will prevail as it has with each one of us, with his weaving in and out of our legs, along with the many Sammi antics of play and friendliness that characterize him as one of the sweetest cats we have encountered. He makes us smile every day when watching him pursue his curiosities, utilizing the 7 foot cat tree, run and skid on the hardwood floors, appear suddenly at the sound of a food can, Anny chasing Sammi, Sammi chasing Anny, and knowing that we now have a "superstar" as part of the family.
