2 Special Needs Cats- Puff and Pippin
Our first extra special feline is Puff who has been with us for awhile. She was rescued from another shelter and has had a difficult time adapting to shelter life. Puff does not like other cats and unfortunately it is necessary to share the room she is in with them. This 4 year old does have her own cage and we have been working quite a bit with her to get her to like us humans. We have a feather on a stick that we use to rub and scratch her and she just melts when we do that. She will sometimes let us rub her head with our hands (on her terms of course) and we are hopeful that in the right environment she will appreciate her owner.
An ideal place for Puff would be an indoor barn or work space. She has always been an indoor cat so we don’t know how she would do in the great (and scary) outdoors. She may choose to be friendly (again when it’s her idea) or she may choose to keep to herself. This beautiful grey tabby could be a great deterrent to a rodent population. She would need to be an only cat –she wants to be the diva of her own domain! Could you please help Puff get out of her cage and have a real life again?
Pippin is a senior special needs kitty who just needs someone to love and care for her now that she is in her golden years. This beautiful blue-eyed Siamese was found abandoned and it’s amazing she even survived being an older cat that was also declawed. She has spent some time in foster care and was a great companion- Pippin liked to follow her foster mom from room to room and enjoyed a nice comfy lap to curl up in. She is very petite- barely 6 pounds and will need to be given injections of fluids ever other day. We would be willing to place her in a long-term foster situation so that we would still be responsible for her long-term medical needs. Pippin’s ideal new owner/foster would be someone who is comfortable giving her subcutaneous fluids on occasion and would enjoy a lovely older lap cat.
If you think that you might be able to open up your heart to either of these special kitties, please contact
