Jimbo & Katie (now Fred & Louise)

Dear Homeward Pet

We love our little kitties, adopted on Sep 13th! We have renamed them Fred and Louise (originally Jimbo and Katie).

They have taken over the house, and have brought so much love and enjoyment to our lives! They love to play and snuggle, and are getting bigger and stronger every day. They snuggle and sleep with us, and play and tear up the house.  They love watching tropical fish videos on the computer, and they also love macaroni and cheese.

They had their wellness visit on Sep 18 - vet said they are very healthy, happy and well nourished.

Thank you for helping to bring these precious little creatures into our life.

Mac

Mac is quite active, but he also loves to cuddle. We're enjoying him a ton! :)

I do want to get started with some obedience classes (he seems to know some basic stuff, and he is pretty smart, so it would be fun for both of us), so we'll be doing that soon.

Olivia

Olivia (or Little Livvy) as we call her, is doing just great. She is so well behaved, and it seems like she has lived with us forever. The first night I crated her, because I didn’t know exactly how things would go.  But after that, she was in our bed with us and Sofia (Bichon Frise) from then on. Sofia seems to be OK with her, although Sofia doesn’t really play with Olivia.

Olivia loves to play in the morning. I throw a blanket over her and we play peek a boo. Then she looks for the “mouse” under the covers as I run my  hand under the covers and she chases it. She also loves to play with toys. She’s a joy and so cute.

We took her on her first RV trip for two weeks to Cashmere, Toppenish, and Prosser. She loves to ride in the car and had no fear of riding in the RV. Olivia got along with all the dogs we met and people too.

Thanks so much for all you do for the lost animals. They deserve a loving home.

Paprika (now Maude)

I just wanted to let you know that Paprika is doing well. I've renamed her Maude, and she doesn't seem to mind too much!

She is a very loving kitty; she likes to cuddle, refuses to be picked up, and will only play with toys that have catnip in them - which I suspect is mostly due to old age and stubbornness!

I took her to the vet and they say she looks good but could lose a few pounds, so I have her on diet cat food. I've attached pictures of her laying around the house!

Thank You!

Tank, Lola, Pluto (now Dwight), & Mickey (now Jim)

We are a happy family with four of our Homeward Pets! I wanted to thank you and your staff for your hard work and dedication to animals that need homes.

We adopted Lola (brown dog) 5 years ago in July. Tank came next about a year ago. They are best friends. Tank was the cure for Lola's separation anxiety. We did everything for Lola from working with trainers to taking her to a dog sitter every day we were at work. Now we are able to leave Lola alone with Tank and they enjoy their dog door and fenced in backyard. Many days I come home from work and the two of them are in the back yard sunning themselves together.

We adopted Dwight (orange) and Jim (grey) about a month ago (formerly Pluto and Mickey).  Luckily they were accustomed to bigger dogs in their foster home and they settled in right away with the dogs. They play, play, play and are so much fun! They are developing their personalities at our home. They both like mischief and wet food!

Thank you again for making our family of two a family of six! We love our pets and will do anything for them.

Annie and Patch

Both Annie the dog and Patch the kitten are from your wonderful facility. We love them dearly and they give us such joy. They are best buds.

Thank you.

Willow (now DeeDee)

Willow, now known as DeeDee, is doing great. She has gained a few pounds and grown back all of her fur. She gets to go to work with me most days and gets lots of pets and attention from my co-workers. All in all she has blended right into our family and daily routines. She is very well behaved and other than her being a bit nervous on occasion, has no major issues.

Richard Sherman (now Mickey)

Karen adopted me on October 1st and changed my name to Mickey. I like my new home and my new parent. Here I am in the kitchen!

Aphrodite (now Laci Mae)

We adopted little Aphrodite on Wednesday October 1st, and I just wanted to let you know that she is doing great and is now more relaxed.

We have also renamed her to Laci Mae. She is such a cutie and we are enjoying her very much! She is our little ball of energy and cuteness!

Pinkie (now Coey)

We got our freckled little cattle dog mix Pinkie (now Coey) last January.

She was shy at first, but through training she has gained more trust in other dogs and is continuing to improve. She is a ball and frisbee catching wizard and a quick learner. We've taught her all the basic commands as well as treat balancing and high fives! She has also become friends with her cat siblings, who wait at the door for her to return from her walks. She gets two long walks and play time every day and especially loves running along the beach!

Because of her we have gotten to explore new parks and hikes in our neighborhood and beyond.  She is our adventure seeker and affectionate companion. We love our Coey-coco so much!

Charming (now Charlie)

Adopting an older dog is a great way to go . . . we recently adopted ‘Charming’ (now Charlie), a 7 year old terrier mix. This little guy has been a wonderful addition to both our human and doggie household. He gets along great with everybody including our 8 year old beagle, Bella. They really enjoy each other’s company; whether it is relaxing on the couch, hanging in the backyard, or running around chasing squirrels.

His maturity has allowed him to quickly learn the household routine. He loves walks, playtime, cuddling  and greets us with his tail wagging. This is the second time we have adopted an older dog and will continue to do so!

To all pet rescue volunteers – we want to give you a BIG thanks, for all you do! To all prospective adopters – consider adopting an older dog, you will be quickly rewarded!
