Baby, Felicia, and Teresa

Just wanted to send a quick update on all the kids. Baby (black lab mix, renamed Josie), Felicia (tux kitty, renamed Felicity), and Teresa (brown tabby, renamed Allie) are all getting along just fine together with their stray sister Pepper (mutt - maybe aussie/spaniel mix?). Felicity is the queen of the household, and Allie loves taking it easy. Pepper helps keep Josie young and they are always snuggling together in a too-small dog bed.

I've attached some pictures of them all - you can see that Felicity has gotten into some catnip and is thoroughly enjoying herself.

Hello everyone, and especially Laurel. Remember me? It's Marble, the little calico cat that came from Wenatchee. I am writing today to tell you how happy I am in my new home. Mom and Dad tell me they just adore me! Dad said I'm a real sweetie and I made their home a happy place again. He was out of town the day I was adopted, and I purred really loud when he came home. I jumped up on his lap and kneaded his belly. I think I heard him purring! So many things have happened in the last few days, it's hard to know where to begin. Auntie Mary and Mom gave me lots of choices for a new name, and I meowed my approval for Gracie. Dad liked it, too,  so that's my name now!  I have been eating good and I get to sleep next to Mom and Dad in a great big bed at night. I gave Mommy kisses in the middle of the might on my very first night here. I have 3 scratching posts with perches to sit on and watch out the windows. You wouldn't believe what I've seen already - a raccoon, a herd of elk, squirrels, and all kinds of birds. And don't worry...Mom and Dad won't let me go out there!  I feel just fine, but we went to my new vet yesterday because my incision from my spay surgery is a little swollen. They gave me some medicine to take that I don't really care for, but Mom said it will just be for a few days. She said there's nothing they wouldn't do for me, so you can all rest assured I'm in good hands here. Mom is even typing this for me so I can cat-nap in the sun.  Well, I know I was only with you a few days, but I really liked it there. You all took such good care of me and were so nice.  Thank you for the opportunity you give to all of us pets without families a better life. I never dreamed anything like this would ever happen to me! Love always, Gracie

Eddie (Formerly Known as Phantom)

 

 

 

Hi Laurel,
 
It was so good seeing you again this evening!  I'm really looking forward to volunteering at the Homeward Pet Adoption Center!
 
I'm attaching a few pictures of "Eddie" (adopted as Phantom), as promised.  Sean and I absolutely adore him and feel very lucky to have adopted him.  He is one of the most affectionate and fun kitties that I've ever known!  As I mentioned, the integration is slowly, but surely, progressing.  Lenny (14) is alot more tolerant of him than Liam (8) but seems to be warming up to him over time.  We recognize that it takes time for adult cats to warm up to the idea of a newcomer and are going to continue to let them slowly get to know each other.  I've grown up with cats all of my life and know that they have their own way of doing things :)
 
Thanks again for all of your kind assistance.  We feel truly fortunate to have Eddie in our family.

Dahlia (formerly Kirin)

This is Dahlia, our new Malinois mix (we're told) puppy. Whatever she is, she's been an absolute joy in our lives. She's also the best puppy ever put up for adoption and anyone that says otherwise is just jealous.

We were originally looking at another dog at Homeward. Amy there thought that dog would probably not be a good fit with the 2 older dogs we already had, but said that they were expecting a new litter of puppies soon and we could try fostering one of them if we were interested. We decided to give it a try. On the first Saturday that we had Kirin, now Dahlia, we took her to Marymoor Park. The first person we ran across commented on how cute she was and asked us some questions about her. We answered that we didn't know much about her as we had only had her for a couple of days and were only fostering her for a couple of weeks. The lady we were talking to just laughed and said "yeah right"!

Well, 2 weeks later she turned out to be prophetic. We adopted Dahlia and have been thrilled with her ever since. She's a very good girl and gets along great with our pair of senior citizens. Thanks everybody at Homeward Pet for all your help. You do good work there.

Finnegan and Regan (formerly Lucy) celebrate!

Finnegan and Regan (formerly Lucy) had a birthday celebration in July--you can see the "cake" my niece made for them! They've been doing well and enjoy using each other for pillows.

Lydia and Doe (now named Shelby and Bristol)

Hi Homeward Pet,

We adopted Lydia (black calico now Shelby) and Doe (dilute tortie now Bristol) almost a year and a half ago on July 3, 2009. They are just the best kitties, each with a very unique personality of her own.

We love them so much, and couldn't have asked for more a more perfect pair. Although they weren't from the same litter, from the very first day they became best buds. Twice each day, once in the morning and again in the evening (like clockwork), they start in chasing each other round and round the house. They go so fast that I can't tell who's doing the chasing--it's just a streak of fur blazing by. They go psycho over their flying feather toy (DaBird) and love every box that comes into the house. We have so much fun.

For anyone who can adopt a pair of cats at the same time, I would definitely advise it. We have always had "solo cats" in the past, so this is our first go with 2 little furballs at once. Adopting a pair is truly the only way to go, because they play a ton together, sleep and snuggle together, and just enhance each other's lives so much. That, and they tend to not be as needy as solo cats are--which is a plus for humans who are busy--and more of a plus for the cats, because they're not alone all day!

Thanks Homeward Pet, for all that you do for so many precious animals in need. Your organization is one of the best, and I would recommend anyone looking to adopt a pet to come to Woodinville!
