forwarding pics of our little Balto! (Formerly Farley)

Hi All,

Little Farley decided to change his name to Balto.  He is very happy in his new home. He has been playing, talking, napping, chasing a feather toy and loving his 15 year old boy.  He loves to love and be loved.  When I leave the room where he may be, he is quick to call for me…asking where I am. When I call back to him, he runs right to me!   The minute he sees his boy (Jordan), he purrrrrrrrs!  His first vet appointment was quite offensive to him, but he was happy when he was home again!  My son’s allergies remain at bay after 9 days of Balto being in our home.  So…ALL IS GREAT!!!

Thanks so much for letting us bring this little charmer home.

Hercules is doing great!

Hello -

Just wanted to send along a quick update on Hercules, the beautiful
black and white kitty we adopted just over a week ago. He is such a fun
guy! He loves our dog, Hank. He must have grown up with a dog in the
house, because he immediately came out of his shell when he met our dog.
He rubbed up against him and was so happy - very adorable.

He still hides under our bed a bit, but I think that's because he's
tired from the party he throws every night around 2:00 am. :)

Anyway - attached are a couple pics. He's helping us get over the loss
of our dear kitty Calvin. Thank you for letting us adopt him!

Happy Holidays to everyone!

Dear Homeward Pet friends -

Here is a photo of me (Princeton) with my brother Reggie. We just came
home from the groomers. I am the neat, clean one on the left. We are
excited for Christmas and all of the festivities. Aren't we cute?

  Say Hello to Gypsy Sphinx

To everyone at homeward pet, you were all so nice to me and seemed genuinely excited to match me with my new friend.

I am finally writing to tell you all how my kitty is doing.  I adopted 'Mable' in October.  Her name is now Gypsy Sphinx and she is such a princess.  I was waiting to write, because we had a ruff start.
I could tell she was sweet, but she was fierce.  She played really ruff and bit down pretty hard. She scratched me and Lazaro (my son) in the face.  She had a crazy look in her eye and sometimes I would just walk away from her, but was not afraid.  I had my doubts about her a few times, but believed she was supposed to be my cat.  So I was patient and gentle with her and she has softened up and began trusting me. Her story was that she was found starving outside of a country home.  I think she had been through a lot and had to protect herself in the wild.  She had to adjust and feel safe.
Gypsy has been with us for almost 3 months and she has adjusted wonderfully.  She sits on her little perch like a Sphinx and looks over us.  She doesn't bit so hard or dig her claws in when she plays (I trim them now), it seems more like playing now and not self defence.  She's not a lap cat yet, but she will lay at the foot of my bed while I sleep. She lets me pick her up and snuggle her for a few moments at a time.  I've done some Reki on her and she is opening of to love and purring a lot more.  She didn't really purr in the shelter.  I took a chance on her.
I love the little chirping noises she makes zipping around the apartment.  She's not shy with the many house guests that drop by for a visit.  She's friendly and playful, maybe a little more ruff with other people.  Gypsy Sphinx is defiantly MY cat or 'familiar'.  We have rehabilitated her into a happy home as part of the family, with my son and I.  I went on such a little journey to track her down, thank goodness for the website and the kitty profiles you have up.  She adds so much life and warmth to our lives.
              Thank you homeward pet.

Photos have been sent in another emai.  I hope you all remember me and Mable and are happy to hear about us.

Happy Tails - Bruce (aka Ali)

Dear Homeward Pet,

Just a note to say hello and send some pictures of Bruce (you knew him as Ali); we adopted him just about this time last year at the Canine Christmas event.  He still doesn’t like to wear the santa hat, but surprisingly he loves this sweater J.  Thanks again and Happy Holidays!

Pirate

Sorry this has taken so long to deliver but Pirate was scared of the flash. Mogley and Pirate are good friends, he has adjusted well. He was marking in the house, but we found out he had crystals in his urine, got some medicine and he is much better. He is starting to train better now, listening more. We are very happy with him. Thanks so much for chosing us.

Happy Tails - Cordelia

We originally agreed to take Cordelia as a long term foster because she
had tested faintly positive for FELV and her prospects for adoption
weren't good. After a couple of months, we knew she had become our cat
and we adopted her. We had forgotten how much fun a young cat can be.
She is just the best cat ever. Everything she does is just too cute.
She is graceful, athletic, energetic and curious. She loves to play
with her many toys, zoom around the house and pounce at your feet or
hands under the covers. She also loves to be pet. After a full day of
love and activity, she settles right down and either sleeps on her
special cushion or snuggles in with one of us for the night. We also
just had some excellent news, our vet had a comprehensive blood test
done and she tested negative for FELV.

We are so happy to have found our kitty.

Thanks

Ruby (adopted 8/2009)

Hi, I wanted send in a few photos of Ruby the cat, whom we adopted back in August. She has just been wonderful; so incredibly sweet and loving....by far the best cat either one of us has ever known. Ruby is even ok (for the most part) with Lola, the Basset Hound we adopted in October. We lost our previous Basset to cancer in June, and my 19 year old kitty just three hours (yes, hours) later. Our house was pretty much consumed by grief until we brought Ruby home. Plain and simple, we just love her. She is delightful! Best wishes, Shari & Sam

Kina - Another Happy Adoptee

We adopted Kina (black lab x border collie) from the shelter on November
14th and she has blended in well in our home. Kina is a very sweet dog
who loves attention but also loved to wander and jump fences. Since
adopting Kina, we have increased the height of our fence so jumping
fences is no longer an issue. She is also walked on a leash at least
twice a day so she is no longer loose to wander the neighborhood.

Kina has been accompanying me to work each day (I work at a park office)
and she has been the best dog, greeting everyone calmly that comes in
the door. After being with Kina for a few minutes, most people ask to
take Kina home with them because she is such a sweet dog. Kina is also
getting along well with our other dog (and all dogs in general) and she
loves to run at dog park. She also loves walking the park trails at
lunchtime and searching for rabbits and deer.

I have attached a picture of Kina in my chair at my office. She has
taken it upon herself to jump in my chair when I vacate it. She
certainly has not had any problem adjusting to her new home and office!

Thanks for all you do, Homeward Pet!
