Here are Regan and Finngean posing for pictures (such divas). They get along great, play all the time, and are very affectionate. Regan is growing well--she is almost three pounds now! --Mary |

update on Simone
To all of my dear ones at Homeward Pet Adoption Center,
Hey, it's Simone...now called Sasha-Simone. I don't seem to mind my additional name as I truly enjoy my new digs. In fact I have settled quite well into my new townhouse. I love to run up and down the stairs then slip into Karin's lap for a long nap. She usually gives me a long brushing so as to keep the floating hair down to a minimum. Karin lets me have the run of the house and placed my very own down blanket on the couch to add to my comfort.
I have found a great perch in the upstairs bedroom window. From this perch I can monitor the neighborhood (cats and humans alike). I also enjoy watching the birds that flock to the outdoor fountain for bathing and drinking. It makes me want to go hunting, but alas I am an indoor cat.
I have shown Karin that I was well trained. For instance, when I jumped onto the dining table all it took was a firm, "Get down" and I was off right away. I have faithfully used my litter box to show my respect for Karin and our house. She bought me some mighty fine tasting vittles which she mixed with the food you sent home with us. Being a smart cat, I started eating only the new food and leaving the other stuff in the bowl.
Thank you so much for your care and patience while we all waited for Karin to adopt me. Although she misses her former cat, she often tells me she loves me ever so much and that I am helping her heal.
I am loved and in a wonderful home, thanks to your facility and the people behind the care.
Luna the Wonder Dog!
Hello,
This is just a little note to say how much I enjoy having Luna (who used to be named "Princess") in my life since adopting her from Homeward Pet 2+ years ago. What a life-expanding gift her presence is to me, my friends, and neighborhood! Three friends at work have adopted dogs from Homeward Pet---all inspired by Luna's intelligence, charm and beauty. I took this picture of her at Greenbank Farm on Whidbey Island, where she loves to explore the tall grasses, hunting for field mice. Thanks to Luna, I now spend a lot more time outside in beautiful places. Thank you for all that you do to make the world a better place!

Quick update for Wookie
Subject: Quick update for Wookie
I wanted to quickly let you know how Wookie and I are doing. I’ll plan on sending a better update with a photo of her in her new home in the next month.
First I want to thank Shirley for taking the time to write a note about Wookie after she fostered her for a few days. It was a big part of my decision to adopt Wookie, since I wasn’t sure how well we were bonding at the shelter, although I knew I’d have to be patient and give it time.
Wookie has been an absolute sweetie since I brought her home, and I couldn’t be happier! She’s also very brave – instead of taking time to get settled in a small part of the house as recommended, she wanted to explore everywhere after about an hour. The next morning she found out there is a door she can’t go through yet (into the garage), so she is now slightly obsessed about wanting to go in there. She had the full run of the house in less than two days.
She’s pretty active for a pampered house cat. She likes to race me up and down the stairs, leaps up in the windows, and plays with toy mice. I can also count on her coming to the door to greet me when I come home, but I can tell she’s okay on her own too.
Thanks for all the help when I was there on Friday. It was great to be able to take this gal home for the long weekend and give her a proper home!

Happy Tails - "Timber & Forrest"
We just want to thank you so much for our wonderful boys!! They have adjusted so well to our family of other pets (2 dogs & 1 cat). They "boys" are as happy as they can be. They love to play with our smaller dog and attack the large dog's feet whenever possible. As you can see, they love our other cat! Thanks again for allowing us to adopt from you and we love having the "boys" in our lives!!

Lola Twinkle Toes (Missy)
Dear Homeward Pet,
Attached are some recent pictures of Lola that we took over the summer... Her and champ are two peas in a pod and we're wondering if maybe she was with other little dogs when she was in her foster home? The way she plays with Champ is so cute! she is so gentle with him and licks him in the face every chance she gets! Her paw (we call it her nubbin) is getting better and seems to be almost completely healed.. She has also earned her title as queen of the bed and actually watches tv with us! She goes nuts when she sees dogs on Animal Planet... Enjoy the pictures and thank you again for our little girl :)

"Little" is now "Jango"
Dear Homeward Pet staff,
We just wanted to let you know that “Little”, the darling black-and-white tuxedo kitten we adopted last Saturday, has a new name. Our boys have chosen “Jango” for him (a character from Star Wars is “Jango Fett”) and it seems to suit him well. We have been having a lot of fun with him since bringing him home. He is so sweet – loves to be held and cuddled, even likes tummy rubs! – and his “motor” is running all the time. He is very frisky and playful, too. Loves to chase a ball or just about anything pulled on a string. He even pushes “Hot Wheels” cars around on the floor, stalking and pouncing on them! We have all laughed ourselves silly watching his antics.
So far, he has been staying in our workout room where he has plenty of room to safely explore, some “cubbies” to hide in, his bed, his litter box, food & water, and all his toys. He seems to be very content there but has also enjoyed a few supervised outings to our boys’ rooms and elsewhere in the house. It is so funny when he catches sight of himself in a mirror! He puffs his tiny body and tail up to look so big and menacing, only to scare himself if he swats at his image. Silly kitty!
He has very briefly met our feline matriarch, Chloe, who is 18+ years old. She knew something was up from the moment we brought him into the house, even though we hadn’t let her see him. We gave her the opportunity to check out his room yesterday as we held Jango and then she gave him a good sniff or two. She grumbled a bit and trotted off to “her” territory upstairs. Not particularly happy about the interloper but seems like she is willing to accept him without too much fuss. We’ll wait until next weekend before letting them interact again.
He has been eating and drinking well (we are feeding him Max Nutro kitten food), takes plenty of cat naps, has impeccable litter box hygiene, and seems to be very happy with us. We have a checkup scheduled for him tomorrow at The Cat Clinic in
Thank you for allowing us to adopt Jango. We are so glad he found us and is part of our family – we love him dearly!
Sincerely,
Susan, John, Matthew, and Brian

Sinatra update
Hi - here are 2 pictures of Sinatra. I was making our bed and Bill says "do you think Sinatra will do the same kind of things as Bones did?" And when I turned around to answer him, there he was with Sinatra on his shoulders. He said Sinatra got up on his shoulders by himself, which is what Bones used to do. I think I mentioned to you our vet said Siamese like to ride on their people's shoulders. So it looks like Sinatra has decided this is his person and his home The other picture shows him resting on top of my bookshelf. He loves to jump up in high locations and watch us.

More pics of Smokey and Snickers
Hi there,
As promised, here are some more pictures of our boys, Smokey & Snickers (formerly Smokey & Junior). Looking back on their picture the day we brought them home, I can't believe how much more mature they look. Hard to believe their only a couple weeks older!

Thanks,
Sachi
