Chewy's new home

Hi,
Here is Chewy making himself at home watching TV.  It has been too wet to take Chewy out to play.  He lets us know when he has to do his job so he goes out then and quick back in where it is warm and dry..
Thanks once again.

Ester finds a great home!

Hello,

Here are some pictures of Ester, the cat we adopted there recently.  We just love Ester so much!  She has a great personality.  Although she doesn't like to cuddle and sit in our laps, she is always by our side, even if we are just going up stairs for a moment.  She stands on us in the morning when it's time for us to get out of bed and waits for us to go to bed at night before she will go in our room to sleep.  She's still eating and drinking with her paws, which is very cool to watch!  Thank you so much for letting us adopt Ester, she is a perfect addition to our family!

Sincerely,

Jessica

Izze and Yasemin-the 'House Cleaners!'

Hi Homeward staff, here are a few pictures of the now Izze and Yasemin.  They love to race around the condo, and their prescribed yogurt treat is their favorite part of the day.

Their tree is in the middle of the family room, and even when they are being shy with company, they climb into the tree and stay within view.

Yasemin has been recently dubbed the maid, since she likes to help make the bed by jumping in the middle of it, fold the clothes by chasing the dangling ends, and sweep the floor by chasing the broom.

Izze almost took over that title when she jumped into the dustpile and proceeded to roll around in it. Izze's dubbing has been hairstylist, since she carries barretts, scrunchies, and other hair items around the house. Her favorite prize is a hematite beaded necklace, which hangs under her legs when she steals it.

They are very loved and doted on.  The only activity that they don't get to take part in is quilting, since they have a fondness for stealing straight pins, and I don't want them to get hurt.

When in bed, Izze likes a nice pillow spot, and Yasemin likes a crook, particularly between us.

Thank you for helping us to add Yasemin and Izze to our lives.

What happens to pets after the shelter

Good morning!

I thought you might get a kick out of this picture. What a life my pets
have! Daisy the dog (AKA Glinda the good witch) came to us from you in
I think December of 2006 and Boris the cat came from Hooterville Pet
Safehaus back in 1996, I believe. You can see they really love my white
couch (when I'm not there to see)!

Have a great day.

Best,
Sheri Van Tent

Pictures of Nela

been busy with a new puppy! She has brought us so much joy!! Thank you
for doing what you do! Please share these pics. We are actually
thinking now of getting another one to keep Nela company!

Bourbon Update

So I wanted to share how Bourbon was doing…  Bourbon first task was that he got his name changed to Jackson.  After about 2 weeks he is starting to know his name and he is starting to learn basic commands (sit, lay).  He gets along with his brother, in fact they are wrestling write now as I write this.  The big surprise was that Jackson and his sister (a cat) get along great and she like Jackson more than her other brother who she has known for 3 years.  He has been a great addition to the family and we cannot wait for the first snowfall to see how well he likes snowshoeing.. we already found out he likes water just as much as his brother.  Attached are a couple of pictures.  Bourbon/Jackson is the golden dog.

Thanks again for such a wonderful addition!!

Bobby Joe (Siutik) Photos

You wanted some pictures of "Bobby Joe" who I adopted a few weeks ago.
Here is a sample of the days in his life since the first of October at
both the Everett Lowell Park off leash area and Ebey Island's private
leash free park. Oh yes, and this morning at 4 am Siutik (see you tick)
(means 'ears' ) and Alornerk went nuts and had to go out to chase a
raccoon family off the deck and out of the yard. Protecting their food,
ya know?

He is a charmer, a bit pushy about his wants, and very enthusiastic.
Siutik and my cat sleep on the bed with me. usually cuddled up. At times
when I awake in the morning 'Nerk is up there as well. That IS crowded!
And gets pretty warm! In the house, he's either on the bed, or curled up
at my feet.

Gemini finds true love!

Hello,
We adopted Skye (formerly Gemini) several weeks ago. In a very short time she has become good buddies with our two-year-old male Seamus. They run and chase and play bitey-face all day (and night) long!

Skye is very much a lap kitty and purr machine. We can't sit down to read or type without her jumping on our laps to keep us company. At night she tries to sleep directly on our heads, so we've had to keep them out of the bedroom.

She's had her first checkup and the vet says she's the picture of health.

Thank you for rescuing this sweet kitten and passing her on to us.

Sincerely,

Brian and Suzannah, and Seamus

Schnauzers, Cindy Lou and Mindy (AKA Lulu and Mindy)

Good morning Homeward Staff!  Just wanted to let you all know that Cindy Lou and Mindy have adjusted beautifully and they fit right in. Of course, Cindy Lou is now LuLu because my husband's exwife was Cindy Lou, so that HAD to change.  And changing her name is not a problem because they're both right under foot 100% of the time. It seems neither really answers to her name, but both will respond to "Girls"  :)

They seem to love all three of us.  They hang out with me in my office during the day while I'm working, hang out with dad in his chair when he's watching TV, and anxiously await for Jordan to get home from school so that they can go for a good run, and they sleep with him in his room. They enjoy their walks, but very much prefer running with Jordan.  They're already good at telling him when they're done for the day and it's time to go night-night, coaxing him into his room and heading right for their blankie on the floor.

They've made friends with MacKenzie who lives across the street (a little Westie Terrier) and are working on getting to know Copper (golden retriever), Roe and Reggie (black labs), and Oliver (English setter), the other neighborhood dogs.

If you have a way to contact their last owner, please let him know that the girls are happy and healthy, and we'd love to take them for a visit if he'd like to see them.

Thank you so much for all you do for our homeless pets.

Snuggling with Jordan watching Family Guy.  They especially like Peter!
On their afternoon run

Carheart

Wanted to give you an update on Carhartt  - NOW  Siegfried  - Sieg or Sieggy for short.

His cough is almost gone.  Our vet loved him and gave us antibiotics which we started on Saturday. They go down pretty easy in a liverwurst meat ball.

He was very weary of the horses at first – but now a good healthy caution.

He loves going to the barn with me in the morning – I close the doors on each end of the aisle and he can roam around.

The cats were not a problem – in fact one of the pics will show you just how well that has gone.

He has encountered a few kids in the barn – definitely does not know how to behave – probably hasn’t had a lot of exposure yet.

We take him down to the covered riding arena and let him loose – He is an absolute rocket – very fun.  He can get from one end to the other in seconds.

Anyway – we are very happy that we found him and that he was made available for us to find.  Keep up the good work -  Pound Puppies Rule!!!

I have attached a few pictures I thought you would like to see.

One of Sieg in his favorite place – Sarah’s bed and sharing it quite nicely with orange kitty.

One with Harry – our horse – This was on Friday – so he warmed up pretty quickly –and Harry is really good with dogs.

We are signing up for basic obedience – hopefully in a couple of months we can let him off leash – but for now – he is doing great.

Three kitties adopted together!

Wow! I've had the kids almost two months, it does not seem like that much time at all. Here is a new picture of Cleo (formerly Ophelia) the black 1 year old, Nicholas (grey kitten, formerly Sinatra) and Toby (tabby/white kitten, still Toby). All three of them love to sleep with me (on me) and run laps around the house when I come home from work.

Thank you for letting me have new friends to take away the pain of the loss of my old friend. I still miss Spice but these kids keep my busy.

Anne

PS - the vet really loves what a good job you do in socializing the cats

Ivy finds happiness!

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to thank you for taking such good care of me :)  I am living in Bothell now and I like it.  My new owners are  just thrilled with me as much as I am to have a new home - I liked my "little condo" at your place but it is  much nicer to have more room.  I had such good care with you and got a "A +" from the vet at Bothell Pet Hospital when I went in for my 1 week "well kitty check up".

I am getting lots of tummy rubs and have  big bed to sleep in though sometimes it's crowded with my owners there especially at night time.......but during the day I get it all to my self :)  It's o.k. - I don't mind sharing........  I am doing well and have lots of new places to explore in the house as you can see.

I miss you and hope that all the other cats and dogs will be as lucky as me to find a good home.

Thanks so much for all your wonderful care.

Love,

Ivy

p.s.  Thanks everyone - I'm just thrilled with Ivy - she is just a love and everyone who has come in contact with her  - totally agrees -

Kathy :)

Hello from Rupert (aka Shaggy)

Hi Everyone!

Rupert here.  Today is the 3rd anniversary of my Mom and I adopting each other.  This has been a busy year for us.  I still get to travel all over the place and visit with family and friends...but I now have a brother.  I am attaching a picture of the two of us together on the sofa...there is another one of just me...Davie, that's my brother was there one minute and gone the next.  Mom thought I looked cute so she kept it even though Davie hid.  My other big event this year was not fun at all...it was kind of scary...I had to have surgery.  I had a strange lump on my chest that the Dr decided needed to come off.  I didn't like having surgery, but my Mom took really good care of me when I got home and felt all weird from the drugs they gave me.  Luckily, the bump was just a bump, nothing to worry about and my hair grew back in, so you can't even tell I have a scar.

I hope you like the latest pictures of me...with my brother.  Mom says to say Hi and thanks again for helping us find each other.  We like keeping you updated every year on how we are doing because we are just so happy that you took such good care of me when I lived with you and that you helped us become a forever family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If it's ok, I'll send you an update next year!

Lot's of love,

Rupert and Mom
