Dozer

Sorry for the delay in responding to your phone call.  Dozer is doing great and has become a regular member of the family.  He had a fever and an issue with his right ear when we first brought him home, but a trip to the vet took care of that.  The cats are still adjusting, one more quickly than the other, but they just need time.

Dozer is signed up for obedience class at the end of August and will spend his first day at doggy daycare this Friday.

We have attached a few pictures.

Thank you!

Thank you!

Hello! My husband and I adopted Zoe the dog this past weekend at Sam's
in Monroe. She is just the sweetest, well-mannered little girl and
seems to be a perfect fit for us! Our one concern was how she would
behave around our big orange kitty. They are getting along great!
We're fairly certain they'll eventually be good pals. We were on the
couch together tonight and Zoe and Rocky were cuddled right up with each
other between us....I had to send you a picture! Thank you so much for
taking good care of Zoe so we could find her and thanks for all you do
for other animals in need. I'm sure it's a hard job sometimes, but
those animals (and their future owners!) are so grateful for your hard
work. Best Regards, Adrienne Kaylor

Happy Tails- Duff

Hi Homeward Pet!

We wanted to send you an update.  We adopted Colonel Mustard, now Duffy, or Colonel Duff Mustard from the Clue litter in April of Last year.  We just want to say a BIG thank you to all of you at homeward who rescued these not-so little anymore guys, and especially to Geraldine who made it all possible.

Duff is quite the gentleman, and is even training to become a Therapy dog to help with Cancer patients!  He's spent the last month up on San Juan Island, chasing Seagulls, and being admired on the Docks at Roche Harbor.  He is the life of the party, and many days he actually is a greeter at my store in Kirkland, and loves to play with kids! After overcoming some early health problems, he is doing just fine, loving life, and LOVES swiming.  Every morning he wakes up and goes for a "dip" in the pond before breakfast.

We just wanted to thank you again for bringing this over-grown joy into our lives.  I love every minute of it- he rarely leaves my side.

Regarding our adopted puppy Dewey

Hello Homeward Pet Adoption Center,

About a month we adopted a little adorable puppy named Dewey (a brindle mix, 6 mo. old)...and we love him!!!

He is such a good puppy, super friendly and calm at the same time.
He has been socializing really well...we have been to the dog park, in mountain bike rides with friends, parades, all sorts of different places and environments, and he has been exceptional.  He gets tons of compliments every where we go.  He was even recognized at the Freemont parade by one of your volunteers.
He has many friends, our cat Forest, our neighbor dog Bella, and the local yoga studio dog Jack!

He has been shaking his tail more frequently lately so I believe he is quite happy with us.

Attached are a few pictures...

Take care,

Happy Tails-Sherman

We adopted Sherman in January- he was part of Molly's litter. Sherman
has been a wonderful addition to our household. He loves to go on long
walks and swimming at Marymoor. He weighs in at 103 lbs and is doing a
good job learning commands. He loves to play with other dogs and we are
always hopeful of running into his littermates, when we are out and
about. Thank you for an amazing pet !

Pictures of Scooby-Doo

Hi everyone,

we just wanted you to know how Scooby is doing.  Since we brought him home with us on Saturday he has been nothing but wonderful.  He is well behaved, laid back, and sweet.  He is not at all aggressive with the kids or the neighborhood dogs and cats.  ( he does however have a thing for the squirrels ).  We took him for his vet check up today : he had been licking at his paw and we noticed the inside of his paw was red and raw.  He started limping this morning.  He is on antibiotics and gets to wear the cone for a few days.  He was not happy about that.  Scooby is such a great pal.  We are lucky to have found him.

I am sending a few pictures.  Hope you enjoy them!

Subject: Happy Tails- Mason

Hi there! I adopted Mason on Mother's Day this year, and all I can think is how everyone who thought this boy was "too old" missed out! Mason is fantastic- he is getting braver every day, and LOVES to go on our daily runs on the property with the other dogs. Since he is built like a little tank, it is quite a sight to see him charging down the trail! We are planning some hikes later this summer.  He had has a dentistry (what a change!), has gone through a "Ruff Around The Edges" obedience class, and is learning about toys and home-cooked meals, and most of all: he is part of a family.
To summarize: Mason is a WONDERFUL boy, who acts like a three year old, not an eight year old, and I can't imagine not having him in my life. Thank you!
Out on the trail...

4th of July Parade

Here is another update on our little Mikey. He had his own little float
in the Lake Oswego Parade.

Mikey is doing so well. We have a daily walk and backyard play and then
he gets down to the business of a good nap before dinner.

We sure love our little ones.

Foster kitten check up time!

Michelle, her mom Valerie  and their family have been fostering kittens for us for over two years. It is rewarding and sometimes hard work but the successes make it all worth while. Michelle is holding Snickers, a now thriving kitten who had to be bottle fed for weeks by another caring foster Miranda. Snicker’s  mommy cat was unable to care for the large litter of kittens that she had so we got outside help for her. Snickers has been reunited with her siblings now that she is eating solid food on her own. It really does ‘take a village’ to care for the hundreds of needy kittens and cats that come through our doors every year!

2 very lucky kittens!

Dear everyone at Homeward,
I wanted to thank you again for the gift of two wonderful kittens! They've really brightened up our home and have been such a joy to have.
Metro (aka Johnny) and Joanie (aka Lulu) are thriving here and have made friends with both of our dogs, prefering our black lab, Stout, in particular. He has taken it upon himself to make sure they don't get into too much mischief.
Metro is quite the explorer and enjoys helping me write emails and keeps my keyboard warm when I'm not using it... his little motor earned him his name, as our family is very fond of Parisian life.
Joanie, my little sweetie, is quieter than her brother, but always snuggles up to me when I'm sitting on my bed. She seems to dominate her brother and always leads the charge around the house, so Joanie, or Joan of Arc, seemed appropriate for her. She also enjoys helping me with my laundry.
They are so sweet and I'm very thankful of all your help when my mom and I came down to look at them!
Thanks again!

Chelsea (And Metro and Joanie)
