Virgil (now Baxter)

Just a note to let you know that Virgil (renamed Baxter) is doing great! He’s a loving sweetie and follows me around everywhere.

It took a few weeks but now Baxter and his older sibling, Buster, are getting along great. Does my heart good to see them playing together. They race all over the house, and while they don’t yet curl up together the way Bandit did with his late brother, they do sleep on the bed with me.

Scarlet (now Brooklyn)

Homeward Pet was our 7th and final stop in checking shelters. If we didn't meet a dog we fell in love with that day then we were going to keep watching sites and go back another time.

I've come from a background of giant breed dogs and my fiancé had always had medium sized dogs. His last one was a pit bull and I really wasn't on the same page with his desire for another one. Then we met Scarlet.

As soon as I saw her I was blown away at how beautiful she was, and then we got to interact with her and I KNEW I had to get her home with us. Falling in love with her wasn't complicated. Arranging the schedules of 2 adults and 6 kids in school was quite another story. 3 days later when we were finally able to get the rest of the kids in to meet her, and that was it.

Scarlet has been renamed Brooklyn and she's an extremely lovable, playful, spirited, goofy girl. She's been adored by others in our neighborhood who will just stop by to say hi to her.

Now that we have her we can't imagine life without her.

Jackson

Last October we lost our best buddy, Fletcher. November came, and we found ourselves heading down to Homeward Pet to visit a particular dog we had seen on the internet.

Well that particular dog was already in a "meet and greet" with another family, but there sat Jackson. Or, should I say, there "bounced" Jackson.  Up and down, up and down. It was love at first sight between Jackson and my husband. An hour later he was settling in at our house. He stepped right in and made our house happy again.

We know it must have been hard for Jackson's previous owners to surrender him, but we want them to know Jackson is having a fantastic time with his retired person. He visits a trail every day, and in the summer gets to visit our 20 acre piece of property and chase tennis balls to his hearts content, on land and in the lakes and rivers of Central Washington. He has plenty of dog buddies and he is so good at sharing toys!

He is a happy dog and we are enjoying every day with him!

Lucas

We are having a great time with Lucas, who we adopted a week and a half ago. He is very playful, curious, eats heartily, and is very lovable. His motor is always running!

Thank you to everyone at Homeward Pet Adoption Center for this wonderful addition to our family!

Mavrick

Just wanted to let you know that Mavrik is doing just great, and we're thrilled to have him join our family! He's a very sweet and polite boy, and he and Luna are getting closer every day.

Thanks again for doing our adoption! We're SO happy!

Boo & Cuddles (now Kebap & Pipa)

Kebap and Pipa (previously Boo and Cuddles) are doing really well in their new home. Their company is exactly what I was missing! They adjusted to the house within hours, and were immediately social with the girls living in the Annie Wright Schools dorms.

As for their habits - they love to cuddle and relax. Kebap is fond of crawling under blankets and into bags so that he can sleep. He's quite talkative and everyone loves his beautiful blue eyes. Pipa loves following me around and smelling my food to make sure it's not meant for her. She also loves to chase strings and feathers, but once she calms down for the night, she loves to cuddle and groom her adopted brother (or me, if my face is closer).

Cooper (now Gabe)

This is Gabe (little orange tabby, formerly known as Cooper). We adopted him about 2 weeks ago, on a Friday. He is doing great, has gained some weight, and is enjoying his new friends.

Kira (now Kona)

Recently I came in to find a new kitty to add to our family, and Kira was the 'purrfect' match for us! She has adjusted to her new home very easily, and we are loving having her as a part of our family! We did change her name slightly, to Kona, as she is the color of coffee and we love Hawaii.

Thank you for rescuing her and giving her a second chance.

Leo (now Mr. Nicodemus Black)

I just wanted to send you a quick note to let you know how Leo is doing. He has a new name, Mr. Nicodemous Black, which he seems to like. He mostly goes by Nico or Nic-Nic, and definitely reacts or comes to it when I call.

He has settled in quite nicely. He is a cautious kitty, but very, very curious, and polite. And SO SWEET! He loves pets, attention, and laps, and oh my heaven what a beggar! Any sort of food will bring him running to the kitchen. He’s a funny boy. He’s MY funny boy and I love and adore him.

Thank you for keeping him until I realized he was waiting for me.
