Dudley & Shayla (now David & Freya)

Everyone loving each other with their human sister Eleanor.

Missy Sue (now Zoe)

Zoe is settling in quite nicely. She loves to spend her days sleeping on a soft bed. She seems quite serious most of the time, but is pretty fun to watch when she is playing. She and our other cat have not really become fast friends, but they appear to have come to an understanding.

Lily

Thank you for letting us adopt our Lily. We love her so much!

She chose us, because when we went to meet her she barked at another couple, as if telling them she already found her family.

Licorice (now Raylee)

I adopted a sweet little black kitten named Licorice from you a little over a year ago, her new name is Raylee (Ray Ray Bean is her nick name).

She is so still so cuddly and energetic! She loves to play fetch and wrestle with my parents 60lb black lab. They are best buds! She's also very fond of her green sparkly mouse that I've tied to a ribbon. I just wanted to thank Homeward Pet for finding such a cute kitten who has turned out to be my furry little love!

Precious

Hello Homeward Pet!

Precious, the seven year old cat I adopted recently is doing well! Thank you for alllowing me to adopt her!

Elton

This is Elton. We got him over 10 years ago from you. He was one of several puppies and dogs rescued from shelters in West Virginia.

Thank you!

Disa (now Lisa)

Meet Lisa! She's a Chihuahua, very quiet, very busy. We went to Homeward Pet Adoption Center, where she was surrendered by family of the one owner she had that passed away. She likes to be on to be on your lap.

Spencer

We have now had Spencer (Super Spence) for a week and he has been a great addition to our family. We love him!

He was a little shy to start, but is now getting used to his new surroundings and seems to be loving it. He has quite a personality and loves to be pet. He also loves to sit on window sills, take naps on his ottoman, and sleep on our bed. He has become quite a talker. He immediately took to eating and using his cat box with no issues. Seems very active when he wants to be and loves his new scratching box and new fluffy mouse. We expected him to stay in one room for first few days but he immediately took to searching out the whole house and finding his favorite spots.

Thanks so much for all you help in this process. We weren't sure about adopting a new friend so soon after our last passed, but this guy grew on us from the moment we saw him. I'm not sure who found who?

Agatha (now Whisper)

We've had Whisper (we renamed her because she is so quiet) for a few weeks now and she's been a pure delight. She and our older cat have adjusted to one another and like to play chase and with Da Bird.

She has a HUGE appetite and is not a picky eater at all, which makes our lives easier. She's very sweet natured and is learning to sleep through the night. She's been a wonderful addition to our family and is very much loved.

Thank you so much!

Sherman

Thank you so much for taking care of Sherman (we loved the name and kept it) and helping him get better. He is, as you know, the most awesome cat! The picture is him sharing the cat perch with our 10 month old cat, Lola. They love each other and play together whenever they are not sleeping, and they often sleep together too! He still makes his little sheep sound whenever you pick him up, it is very endearing.

Once again, we cannot thank you enough!  Keep up the good work!

Gabriel (now Teddy)

Teddy plays ball with his new brothers, Hampton and Hunter!

I bought an interactive bauble ball that makes animal sounds when moved - Teddy goes crazy for it!

He is a very happy and healthy little pom, and I’m so glad every day that I adopted him. He’s been so wonderful and has made a fantastic addition to our family. He and I are inseparable.

Teddy loves to sleep on the back of the couch.

Toby & Pip (now Toby & Tigger)

They’re now Toby and Tigger, with about a dozen nicknames each, and they are thriving. I adopted them for a 19th birthday gift for our daughter. We’ve had cats before, but the last one died a few years ago and it seemed the right time to bring some new life into the house.

They’ve been to the vet twice for vaccinations and have been pronounced very healthy. Tigger has a big tummy but a very petite head and paws, we think she’ll be a fairly small cat. Toby has a much bigger frame and paws, although he’s not quite as plump. He’s very much the dominant one, she will try to groom him and usually he winds up biting her head; but that passes quickly and they frequently fall asleep huddled together on the top level of their cat tree.

They’re both very mischievous and curious. They absolutely love water, and Tigger will even hop into the shower with my daughter. They like us to turn on the sink faucet so they can bat at the water, and sometimes stick their heads in it.

We thank you so much for the wonderful care you took of them. They are very much loved by all of us. Our daughter volunteers at the Homeward Clinic and plans to study to become a vet tech, so not only are they adored, they’ll be under very good care!

Jypsy

I thought you might enjoy getting a little update on how Jypsy is doing since her adoption, as well as a picture of her in her new home.

As far as her settling in and becoming a member of the family, I don't think things could possibly be going better. After the first week of transition, she has continued to come out of her shell and show her true personality which is that of a loving, playful, intelligent, and independent young lady.

She has adjusted well to having a new set of house rules, has quickly learned what is and is not okay. She readily accepts that the people rules are the ones you have to follow. She has also bonded well with all members of our household. We feel very lucky to have found such a wonderful cat!

Thank you so much!

Marco (now Desi)

He was “Marco” in your care, but since he’s Havanese, we renamed him with an apt Cuban name.

The little guy has been a total joy and has fit in very well with his canine sister Cassie (also in the attached picture) and his feline sister, Loopy. He has REALLY attached himself to my husband, Mike, but after reading up on the breed, it sounds like it’s pretty common for the Havanese to attach to one person in particular. He’s been more slow to attach to me, but he’s getting more and more affectionate with his “mom” as time goes on.

Thank you so much for the work your organization does, we were so impressed by your facility. We wish you all the best in 2014!

Dakota (now Skye)

I wanted to give an update on Dakota.

We adopted her last July and gave her the name Skye (her markings reminded us of the night sky). She has been a fantastic new member to our family. We have 4 young children and a 6 year old lab. Our lab was suffering the loss of her long-time friend and we decided we would never be a one dog family.

Skye has enjoyed running, walks and playtime and has lost a few pounds and is in fantastic shape. We are so happy to have gotten her she has blended in with everyone so well. She must have been wonderful to someone else before us since she is so well-trained and mild mannered. All of our kids can be found snuggling up with her at some point during the day.

I hope she is happy with us since we are very happy with her!
