Paul, Pasco, & Savannah

Here are Pauly, Pasco, and Savannah. These guys have literally brought the joy back into my life! They all work so well together and it's so obvious how much they all love each other and love their new house and their new lives! They are pampered beyond belief and they probably have more love and affection than they even know what to do with!

Thanks again for everything!

Harry (now Asher) & Pollyann

Hi Homeward Pets!

Just wanted to give you an update on the two very special additions to our family, we love them so much and they are wonderful kitties. Thank you to the amazing foster homes that took them in, you can tell them were well loved and cared for!

First I’ll say we changed Harry’s name to Asher since my son had his heart set on adopting Asher first, he still really liked the name so we stayed with that. The kids call them Polly & Ash for short.

The first two nights were interesting - there was a bit of hissing and wrestling going on so we consulted the "Cat Bible" you gave us and realized they were just trying to figure out who was going to be dominant. I think they’re still trying to figure that out and switch roles pretty regularly, but no more hissing and wrestling is clearly play.

By Saturday they were bonded - they no longer sleep apart, they are little cute sleeping buddies. Even if one is tired and the other isn’t they both curl up together, one sleeps and the other keeps watch. They either nap on top of our cat tree or they curl up on the back of an oversized teddy bear we have. They are eating and sleeping like champs, are interactive and come to greet us as soon as we get home. We are keeping them in our playroom right now until they get a bit bigger, so their cat tree, little box, food and toys are all strategically located around the room.

Polly is very curious about everything, independent but loving and loves to play. Ash is quietly confident, loves a good lap and goes through bursts of energy which are so funny. They are amazing additions to our family.

Thank you again for all that you do for these animals!

Cassius

I adopted Cassius from you guys nearly a year ago, and I can't imagine my life without him. Thank you for what you do!

Zoey

We adopted Zoey 1/18. We saw her on the 17th and fell in love.

They told us we would have to wait till intake paperwork was done on her, so not being the patient type I called as soon as Homeward Pet opened the next day. Zoey was available. Yeah!

We rushed over and brought her home. We have an acre for her to explore and run. She setteled in right away and is happiest when she is by our side. Zoey is so kind and loving we feel very lucky to have found her.

Dottie (now Gracie)

Gracie loves her toys. Hahaa. She has lots.

My gosh we love her so darn much. She's my furry child!

Ivan

Hi everybody!

We adopted Ivan this summer and we couldn't imagine a more perfect dog. He is our long-lost fur baby. We go everywhere with him. He is such a special addition to our family and we couldn't have done it without the wonderful people at Homeward Pet!

Jewel

She is adjusting well and is loved so much. She enjoys playing chase, and hide and seek with our girls and dogs when they come in from the cold. She is a purrfect fit in our family!

Thank you so much!

Rick

I adopted Rick last August and wanted to send you an update on how he was doing.

He was definitely a little shy and timid when I first brought him back to my apartment, but in the last several months he has slowly come out of his shell and become more comfortable meeting new people and dogs. He loves going on walks around the neighborhood, visiting dog parks, riding in the car, napping in his chair, and hanging out with his pal Indi.

I am very excited to see him continue to gain confidence and become even more comfortable with his new life!

Saedie

Thank you for helping us find our way to Sadie, who we adopted right before Christmas. She is just an angel. When we adopted her we were told shed need medication for the rest of her life for incontinence, but after the first week she hasn't needed it at all. She has taken over the couch as her own and you'd think she'd lived her forever.

Bolt

My sister and I adopted Bolt a year and a half ago. Right when we got home he was full of energy and bolted right out of his carrier, so we kept the name as it was very fitting! He is full of energy and loves to get into everything. He truly is the king of the house.

Thank you so much for him, we love him very much!

Missy Sue

Thanks for the great new addition to our family. Missy Sue is a great kitty and she is doing well. She has a perfect personality.

Bunny (now Mazzi)

Seven years ago we brought home this wonderful girl from your shelter. When I met that 6 month old poodle named Bunny, she immediately put her paws on lap, and gave me a kiss. We knew we were meant for each other. She was shy at first, but has blossomed into a little diva, who's full of life and personality. No longer Bunny, now Mazzi, she rules the roost at our house, and we can't imagine it any other way.

Thank you for choosing us. Thank you for filling that Mazzi-shaped hole in our hearts. Thank you for all you do!

Mimi (now Tracy)

We adopted Mimi in October, and I wanted to send you an update on how she has settled in.

We ended up renaming her Tracy, and she gets along well with the other cats in the house. She loves to play and usually hangs out where people are. She's so spirited and fun, and we love her. I can't imagine being without her - she's lovely and often sleeps with me in bed.

Thank you for the wonderful kitty.

Shuksan (now ZuZu)

It's been a little over 2.5 months since we adopted our little baby Shuksan (since re-named ZuZu).

(ZuZu's first week home)

She sure has been a  joy to watch grow. She went from 2.2lbs to 3.78 to 5.1 lbs at 17 weeks old. That was 1 month ago that we last weighed her.

(ZuZu now)

My she has grown so fast . She is such a wonder to wake up to every morning.

Mia

We adopted Mia last weekend and she is doing great with her new sister Daisy!

Junior (now Porthos)

Porthos is such a sweet boy! Always spends the evening snuggled up against either my husband or I when we are hanging out. He and his big sis Hathor are getting along great. There are still tiffs, but those are to be expected since not everyone gets along all the time, especially kitties, but it’s so sweet when they snuggle together - that doesn’t happen a lot, but it’s so adorable when it does.

Porthos is pretty much a giant. His paws are huge, and I think they stopped getting bigger and he’s just filling in the rest of the way. He and his big sis (who turns 1 on Jan 20th) weighed the same the last time we took them into the vet (9.5lbs). But size wise he is already bigger than her and he’s not quite 8 months old yet. I know he’ll be a big boy, but he’s just so sweet and snuggly that it’s hard not to just love him.

My brother-in-law brought over one of those automatic laser pointer toys, the ones you just can set and let it run for a while and it turns in a circle. Well, they both love it. Especially Porthos. He has figured out how to stop it.  My husband and I were in his office and we heard this horrible clicking noise. We wondered if they just knocked over the laser toy again, but my husband went out to look to see what shenanigans the two of them had gotten into. That’s when he saw that Porthos put his front legs and chest on top of the toy, which was still trying desperately to turn, and he just looked at my husband like he’d conquered the world.

Thank you so much for helping us adopt him back in September. He makes our house complete.

Belle Marie (now Olive)

We have named her Olive, and we just love her! She makes us laugh all the time; she is a great cat!

Gilda

Just wanted to send an update on Gilda. We have named her Ginger. She is very at home as you can see, and we are SO happy to add her to our family!

Thanks and Happy New Year!

Mavy (now Skyla)

Skyla is doing well and loves the snow, water and playing! We are attending her 3rd class at Doggy Haven and she passed her inspection at the vet with Dr. Cullen.

Sable

Just wanted to give an update on our puppy, Sable, that we adopted in December, and a big thanks for such an amazing addition to our family!

She is doing very well, and has adapted really well to our house. She makes everyone really happy and is such a good dog. She had one of her front legs amputated before we adopted her and has gotten so good on her legs, she is able to go for long walks and loves to play. :)

Photo: Eating fortune cookies, chasing the cat..pure happiness :)

Breanna (now Holly) & Alex

We wanted to let you know that Alex (the handsome flame point Siamese) and Breanna (the tabby polydactyl, now named Holly), adopted Dec 13, 2013, are doing great!

I had originally come in to adopt Elvis, another flame point Siamese kitten, but he happened to be sick that day and not available for adoption. I was about to leave, when Alex caught my eye from the window. I decided to take a look at all the cats, and met Breanna, with her unique personality and extra toes, and decided to adopt them both!

Since they were kept in separate cages at the adoption center, Homeward staff was not sure how well they would get along, but they hit it off from the start!  While awake, they play and wrestle together, and sleep together during their down times. Our older brother/sister Tonkinese cats, Max and Jayda, have accepted them into our family with only a few days of initial adjustment. Now we are a happy 4 cat family!

Gretchen and Big Red (now Bitsie and Russo)

I brought home Gretchen (now Bitsie) and Big Red (now Russo). They are sharing the house with my two dogs and have adjusted really well. My dogs have always been around cats so they know cats rule. Once Bitsie figured out that she could keep the dogs from walking up and down the hall, she has enjoyed her new power of being able to control the hallway traffic.

Bitsie hasn't had a single issue with her legs, which was one of the reasons she was initially returned from her first adoption. She runs and jumps with no problems.

As you can see they are doing great!

Roscoe

We thought you should see how Roscoe has adjusted to his new family. We love him sooooo much! Thank you Homeward Pet.

Pollyanna (now Miiko)

Just wanted to send you an update on Pollyanna. I renamed her Miiko.

She is doing great. She is still shy but getting better everyday. She seems to be housebroken, and yes she loves her walks.

She looks much larger than Lola, but actually she only weighs 1 pound more!
