Chrissie (now Bjelke)

Recently adopted black kitten Bjelke (previously known as "Chrissie") is settling in to her new home and loving life with her big brother Loki. Thanks for helping me find such a great new family member, Homeward Pet Adoption Center!

Marshall Wampuss Checks In

"Hello Homeward Pet Friends!

It has been 3 years now since you found me my forever home. I’m keeping busy with my various responsibilities.  I make sure all meals are served on time, that my female biped doesn’t drown every morning (why does she think all that water is a good idea?), and that no one is ever involved in a project without my assistance.  I also take care to make sure that my sister Lucy’s ears are clean before each meal and that the fur quotient on the carpet never falls below minimum specifications.

Thank you very much for your help!

Head-butts and kitty-kisses,
Marshall Wampuss"

Chuck

Chuck has settled in just fine. At first we thought it might take a little while, but after the first week he stopped hiding and started socializing more. He is now very interactive and feels comfortable without hiding. He had his first check up and the vet said he looks very healthy.

Our family is very happy to have him as part of our family. My niece (17) and nephew (8) have also been spending more time with us so they can play and cuddle with Chuck. He loves to play. He is also very loving and affectionate.

Gravy (now Gracie)

Just wanted to let you know that Gravy is doing well. Since she is not very graceful when flopping down on the floor to lounge, we've re-named her Gracie. She loves playing with her toys, straws being her favorite - she takes them everywhere. She also enjoys the plants on the deck of her apartment as her own private jungle. She's very talkative, and has an opinion on everything, but as long as she is with her people she's in seventh heaven. The vet said she's beautiful and full of personality. Gracie is a fun, social, silly girl and we are happy to have her in our family.

Thank you Homeward Pet.

Bubbles

Bubbles in notorious in our family for finding the weirdest sleeping positions. He is such a snuggle bug and loves to snuggle with our friends and his brother Salem. If you are on the couch you are probably gonna get snuggled. Bubs and my husband are two peas in a pod and I often come home to them sleeping next to each other.

When we had to move back in with my parents they were worried that he wouldn't get along with their kitties and dogs. He won over my mom and dad almost instantly with is weird but adorable purr. And my parents older dog and him were almost inseparable.

Bubbles is wonderful, he gets along with every one. Dogs, people, even other kitties. We are so blessed to have him in our little family.

Junior (now Porthos)

Thought I would reply to the voicemail y’all left when you called to check on ‘Junior’ after we adopted him.

He is doing good. We’ve renamed him Porthos. It’s taking our other kitty, Hathor, a bit longer to warm up to him, but she’s doing her best. There are times when I call her the ‘fun police’ because she will watch him while he plays and then try to give him a hard time for playing with the toys. We did catch them play chasing the other night, it was the cutest thing. He is just the sweetest kitten ever and loves everyone.

I’m so glad we got to adopt him. Thank you!

Coco

When Coco first came to HPAC she weighed a whopping 110 lbs and was having trouble with mobility. We received a recent update from her new family. They had this to say:

"Thought you might like to see a picture of our girl, Coco!

She's down to 70 pounds now and a lovie! The vet still wants her to lose another 5-10 pounds. We are loving her, and she's always rubbing up against us in some fashion! We're are one big happy crazy family...thanks again for all your help!"

Daisy

[Daisy with her new brother]

About two months ago we adopted a cute little puppy called Daisy from you. She is probably up to five pounds now and has easily fit into our family.

She is the most loving, playful, energetic puppy we have seen in a while and is always trying to please us. Daisy has an older brother who is eleven years her senior, but they get along quite well. We offer them chewies when we are on the couch or on the bed and they are constantly trying to steal each others chewie and hide it from the other under a blanket or between the pillows. Most often they don't really want to eat it, just take it from the other, and they are both very good at that. Most nights they sleep right next to each other and between me and my wife.

Daisy is very happy were she is and is living the good life. We are extremely happy she is part of our life.

Jill (now Tori)

About a year ago my Mom and Dad adopted the 1-year old Jill, who has settled into the role of spoiled kitty (as noted by the position on top of the pillow); because she is so similar to the former tuxedo cat who resided with my folks for more than 17 years. Her name was changed to Tori II. Tori has more than filled the hole left by her predecessor. She is a loving and bright spot in the family.

Thank you Homeward Pet! We love Tori! And we love you!

Lilly and Lulu

Lilly and Lulu are doing great. We have them for about a month. We are all enjoying them and they are very loved! They napped a lot on the first few days. They love to snuggle under a blanket on our chests. They found a favorite spot - in my closet, in a plastic bin, on top of my BLACK sweatshirts. They also play well together.

They are held a lot - my daughter made a sling with my scarf. We also have neighborhood kids that stop by to give them some love on a regular basis :)

Casper and Jasmine

This is brother and sister duo, Casper and Jasmine, we adopted 3 years ago this past August 7th. As you can see, they are best buddies and fabulous furniture testers. We are so lucky to share our home, and hearts, with them!

Mel and Gibson (now Kazumi and Akuma)

We adopted Kazumi and Akuma (originally named Mel and Gibson) last December. They are now about a year old and a very big part of our family. We could not be happier to have found them!

Thank you Homeward Pet! You helped us find the missing part of our family!

Jules

Jules came home with me two weeks ago and has settled in nicely. She and her new brother, Benny, are playing lots! She sneaks in and sleeps with me, and has become a beloved part of our family. Even Mory the cat likes her. So glad we found Jules!

Pal and Rulo

Our adopted doggies, Pal (tan) and Rulo (black).

We love Homeward Pet!

Flint (now Redmond)

Flint AKA "Redmond" has settled in well in our new Texas home. He still has yet to venture into the upstairs wings of the house and keeps to a 4 room area. He's put on some weight and surely seems to have filled out in the fur department! He walks through his 4 room area like he owns the place with tail aloft like a homecoming queen's wave. :)

Thanks so much for helping us expand our family with him. He's a peach!

Nelly

Adopted July 20, 2013. Nelly is the greatest. We love her.

You guys are the best!

Otis

I adopted Otis about one year ago. Otis is a great dog and a truly loyal friend. His needs are very simple – walks & tummy rubs. He loves exploring the neighborhood and getting attention. A regimen of good diet and moderate exercise helps keep his arthritis from being a problem.

He may be a bit spoiled though – no beds, couches, or other soft spaces are off limits for him. I love him and am so happy to have him in my life.

Daisy

Daisy is doing great and we are so happy to have her.

She loves our/her Boston Terrier. She now lives in a rambler with a big yard. She loves riding in the car, she loves walks, she watches the chickens and gets along with them, she has met our family vet and all is well. We are all going camping in a few weeks - fun!

Thanks,
Bob and Deb

Garrett (now Chuck Norris)

You may remember Garrett, the English Bull Terrier you had for a short period of time, I did rename him Chuck Norris.

I came and waited until adoptions started and without a doubt knew he was the next boy I wanted to add to my family. You guys were unsure how he would act with other dogs, kids, or cats. I can assure you he does great with all of them! I have had no incidents with him and I have actually seen him be submissive more than anything. His best friend is our neighbor cat that waits at our front door for Chuck Norris to come running out.

Chuck Norris officially passed his first class at the Doggy Haven resort. We start the next class in September! My goals for him is to get his Canine Good Citizen and be a crazy agility boy.

I also want to say thank you to all of you. While we were waiting for a couple of hours, everyone was so friendly, courteous, and treated our bulldog like gold as well. You guys are doing a great job, just remember that!

FeeFee (now Izzy)

I wasn't looking for another dog the night I went to help with feeding at Homeward Pet. But when Izzy (then called FeeFee) looked up at me with her button eyes and wagged her stubby little tail, I was smitten. Soon she joined our family, which includes our loving, loyal, shy Australian Shepherd Lucy and our funny, bossy, slightly cranky Chihuahua mix Jasper.

Izzy has blended into the family perfectly with her sunny, joyful, affectionate spirit! I've also been taking Izzy to work, and she's already very popular at the office. After greeting each staff member in the morning she curls up in her little bed and naps until our next meeting or until it's time for a walk. It's hard to believe that just a few weeks ago this precious girl was a stray. We're so thankful for Homeward Pet and all those who cared for her along the way to becoming part of our family!

Arlo and Ajax

Just a quick update on our new lap kitties. Sweet, sweet boys that have settled in so nicely! They still haven't met their big sisters but will very soon. I would really like to recognize what a wonderful job their foster did! These boys are wonderful!

Baby Doll (now Taco)

This was sent in on 8/27, Taco's birthday:

"Today is Taco's (formerly 'Baby Doll') 1st birthday and she has been an absolute joy ever since I got her 8 months ago. I had had a golden retriever for 13 years in San Diego, and after losing her and moving to Seattle I knew I was ready for another K9 companion in my life.

After relocating to Washington I had been closely monitoring a few different adoption centers, but knew Taco was the one when I saw her on Homeward's website. She had the cutest picture and bio! I made sure to get to Homeward right when it opened the next day. I was the first to meet her, but many families were interested. She was pretty feisty and full of energy, and I knew we'd get along great. I could tell that quite a few interested people were bummed, but I was so excited to form a relationship with our new puppy. The adoption process at Homeward was great. All of the employees were caring, kind, and helpful, and we left with a smile.

Fast forward 8 months and today is Taco's 1st birthday. I was able to get the day off to celebrate with her. She woke me up promptly at 6am, and I made her a special breakfast. Next we went to Magnusen dog park. After that we went to REI and picked up a doggie backpack for our camping trip this weekend. Then we went to Scraps dog bakery and she picked out some birthday treats. Now, as I write this, she is all tuckered out and taking a nap.

She truly is the best dog I could have asked for, and I love her with my whole heart. Thank you so much for uniting us!"

Emmy (now Parker)

I adopted Parker (Emmy) from you in March and couldn't be happier! She loves chasing sticks, balls, squirrels, birds, ducks, butterflies... anything that moves really, and she loves to swim! :)

I love watching her grow and am looking forward to the years to come with her, she's truly made a huge impact on our lives and I am so lucky to have her. I cannot thank you guys enough. ❤

Buttercup (now Piper)

We adopted Piper (then known as Buttercup) in July 2003 when she was about 5 months old. She and her sisters were found as strays in Tacoma and we have always dreamed of a family reunion. The rest of the girls also had flower names and two were left when we adopted Piper. At the time, we had another lab mix, Stout (who passed away in December 2012) and when he met Piper and her sisters, she completely chose him. They were thick as thieves for nearly 10 years - he's the only other dog she's ever shown interest in!

She is the sweetest, snuggliest girl and all our friends want to clone her...so do we! Thank you, Homeward Pet. We are not quite ready to replace Stout but when we are, we'll be heading your way. If you hear from any other of Piper's litter mates, we'd love to meet them!

All our best,
Mollie and Dave

Norbert

August 8 marked the one-year anniversary of my adopting Norbert. He is my perfect, special, best boy. Thank you so much for letting me be his mama!

Norbert is also quite the celebrity these days, as his new sister Mimi (aka Laika) was a "kitten cam mama" and came with her own fanbase - she joined us at the end of April this year, and she and Norbert have their own facebook page:
Laika, Kitten Cam Mama. For anyone who is interested, there are lots of pictures of Norbs.
