Big Jim/Titan :)

Alison and I wanted to thank you for allowing us the opportunity to adopt Titan (Formally Jim) and make him part of our little family. We knew he was a good dog, we did not expect he would be such a great dog. As soon as I opened the back of the truck for him, he jumped in like he knew he was going home, no hesitation whatsoever. He is well behaved, understands the word "no" and is about as gentle a dog as I have ever seen. Thus far we have not seen any of the resource guarding we had been cautioned about on our first visit, and on the contrary he seems mostly attention driven. We have only had him in our home for a day, but I don't see him leaving it for any reason.

Thank you again,

Dan and Alison

Shiloh is now Gabby

Hello All Volunteers and Staff,

“Shiloh” now “Gabby” the beagle has embedded herself in our hearts. After losing 2 beloved beagles we thought that “Gabby” might not gain the amount of affection that we felt for our lost boys. After one month she has shown her true colors and is a delight

She is like no other beagle that I have had but still has traits that are true to her breed. She has turned out to not be as “gabby” as expected and has manners at dinner time. Imagine that! She loves to ride in the car and chase the cats. She gets her face boxed regularly from our adopted indoor declawed cat. She is always up for a mean game of tug o war, which she usually wins, and then is ready for a nap. I already can’t imagine life without her as she has filled the void in our home.

We are going to doggy class to work on socialization because she takes on dogs that could potentially eat her.

Thank you Will and all those who cared for her.

Best regards,

Sharon and John

Tashie

Dear Homeward Pet

Thank you for your email requesting information on Tashie.  While we have had her a month, it seems like she has always been with us.  She is doing very well as you can see from the pictures above.   We did schedule a vet visit the week after we adopted Tashie, and Dr. Marsh's only concern was that she has put on too much weight since we got her. I am trying to do a bit better and limiting her food.  We are keeping her on Pinacle because her digestive tract is doing well with it.

Even our dog  Akela seems to be seems to have accepted Tashie as a family member.  She also likes Tashie's food overly well, and we have had to move Tashie's food dish out of the Akela's reach.  We truly love this cat and are so happy that she is part of our lives.

Brownie!

Dear Friends at Homeward Pet,

It was so nice meeting you last month in February.  We are writing to you as a follow-up regarding a recent dog adoption.

Our family adopted “Brownie” the little spaniel mix.  He now is called Coby.

Coby had some anxiety when we brought him home because he probably didn’t know what was happening to him.  Since then we have gotten over the hurdles of adjustment and are happy to report that Coby is doing fabulously, is in obedience training and receives a ton of attention when we are out and about!  He has found his smile and has integrated well not only with our family but with our other pets.

Coby is an awesome little animal who we love and adore. He really has come into his own.  I am sure he had a rough life in his early years, but it is nice to know that from here on out his life is wonderful, filled with lots of love, attention, respect and treats!

Coby is home.

Sincerely,

Joel, Chelle, Abigail & Caroline

Weasley and his new friend Archie

Everything is going great.  Thank you :)

I've attached a photo of Weasley and Archie helping me with the laundry.  :)

Take Care,

A.J.

Hello All:

A.J., John and I wanted to touch base as promised and let you know how he is doing.  All is going well and he is a very nice addition to our family.  He is extremely laid back and easy to live with.  Oh sure,  he has his deep cough and his loud snoring but that just makes him all the more special as he reminds us of having Grandpa around.   We have been taking a 2 mile walk around Perrigo Park twice a week which he enjoys.  We pace ourselves with a rest stop half way through.  He climbs the one flight of stairs at will and has had no accidents in the house.  The large plush Costco bed was a hit the first night and when in the house he can be found sprawled on it.  Responds well by sitting or laying down for his "cookie".  We visited the vet last week and A.J. was very cooperative and as anticipated in fine health.  We think his hearing is not too good but then neither was Grandpa's!!  There have been no signs of any anxiety attacks not even during his first shower.   Last week, I brought  home a rawhide bone and he chewed on that for three hours.  That was one happy guy!
All in all, A.J. is a sweet heart who we are happy to have with us and from his behavior he feels the same way about us.    Thank you so much for introducing us.
Best Regards, Kathryn, John and A.J.

Vala!

Hello,

I would like to let you know that Vala is doing great. She was very shy at the beginning but after few days everything has changed.
Vala is very playful. One thing she does not like is her diet. It is  painful for her.
We are very happy to have her. We love her very much.
Thank you for such wonderful cat.
Anna

Winnie!

Hi there,

Winnie is sitting by the bay window in our 2nd floor master bathroom. She loves to follow me downstairs to her food area in the laundry room and make her own trips during the night. Her favorite place to sleep is on my shoulder if I happen to be sitting and under the bed comforter at night. She is becoming very playful and funny by rolling on the floor. She eats and goes to bathroom regularly. She likes to groom herself and loves it when I brush her too.

Her Vet appointment is on Thursday.

Bob and I thank you again and love our new member of the family.

The 3 amigos!

Hello, I just wanted to send a quick note and a couple of pictures.  The kitties are all doing well and have taken over the house, as they are supposed to.  All three of our cats were adopted from you folks, Simone (puss-n-boots) was adopted nearly 3 years ago and Percy and Grendel were adopted early this year.  As you can imagine, they are all treasured members of our family!  They are all indoor only kitties as well.

Thank you again for the wonderful work you all do.

Best Wishes,

Ward

Update on Winnie

Dear staff of Homeward Pet Adoption & Karen

I just wanted to give you an update about our Winnie. She is the most adorable, loving, and smart cat. Bob and I loving her very much, already. It took a day or two for her to get use to us and the house but she is feeling right at home now, eating and drinking well. She is also playing and sleeping comfortably.

Thank you so much for letting us adopt Winnie. She is a sweetie pie and please, don't worry about her as she has found a loving home and parents who do anything for her.

Our Best Regards,

Bob & LaDan

FW: Adoped Ali

I have been meaning to drop you a note to let you know how well Ali is doing. She really is so well behaved, I am amazed.  When I am gone some days I

wonder if she is lonely without her sister. We have a rather quiet home compared to what she came from.  I did email and send pictures to Karen, the lady that rescued her.

Thanks again for all you help, I am so glad I have her, she is good company and she does live a very good life.

Yours In Health,

Judy

Seymour

I adopted Seymour, a lab mix just this past Sunday, and wanted to give you a 36hr update....

First and foremost, he is just a great dog, and is doing fantastic!!

He didn't want to get into my truck at the shelter, and had to pick him up:)  He's not use to that, and 3/3 times he's ridden in the truck, I've had to pick him up.  No small task, but he seems to be getting better!  He behaves well in the truck, it's just not his favorite thing.

We came home, and played in the back yard with one of his favorite toys, then went on a mile long walk.  His leash behavior was PERFECT!  Far better than at the shelter!  In fact, of the 2-3 walks he gets every day, he's only tried to bite the leash a couple of times!

He met the cats, which he didn't really even care that much about (they did, and are still freaked) and has shown a lot of patience with them, respecting their space.  He slept on an old flannel sleeping bag at the end of my bed the first night, and didn't do a thing, but sleep like a baby all night (I exercised the hell out of him!).

He's smart and affectionate!  He knows sit, stay, and shake, and we're almost done with "down".  He follows me around the house all the time, and if he isn't doing that, he's on his bed, sleeping or chewing on something

I have a whole room that is completely empty, so when I'm at work, that's where he stays with food, water, and all his toys.  He doesn't like being left, but he seems to behave well while I'm gone.  I'm hoping this phase just lasts a few more days until he and the cats aclimate to one another.

When I came home from work both mid-day today (to check on him) and at the end of the day, he was super happy to see me, and nearly knocked me over!  If I sit on the floor with him he actually climbs into my lap for affection, and loves having his stomach, butt, and cheeks rubbed!

I took him to the beach today to get in some socialization.  He needs that, and isn't too great around other dogs up close, but that (and getting into the truck) seem to be his only areas of needed work.  We'll get there!

Bottom line - GREAT dog, and we are doing fine.  Have our vet appointment this Friday to get checked out.

Thanks for the important work you do!!  May volunteer at a shelter myself once I get Seymour better use to his home (ok, he's fine with that, it's the cats that need adjustment!!).

Please share with anyone who knew and worked with Seymour - Mark

Jake

Just a note to say how happy our entire family is with Jake. He is our noble and wonderful older dog.  I called Homeward for some advice regarding his toilet training; and you were all tremendously helpful and Jake is off to a great start.  We adore him and he will be truly pampered and loved until the end of his days.

We were so happy to find Homeward and look forward to referring all family and friends there.

We feel like we won the lottery!

Fondly, Susan

Freddy and Frankie

Both kittens, Freddy and Frankie, we adopted are very well. They both
become extremely social and playful in 2 months that they've lived with
us. If we have any questions I'll be sure to drop you a line.

Yours Truly,
Antone
